What would you do on the holodeck?

I don't think Wahlberg's guy was called Taylor. Thank goodness. I like Wahlberg as an actor but Tim Burton's Apes sucked.

I would also like to play Dave Bowman in the "2001: A Space Odyssey" program and Col. George Taylor in the "Planet of the Apes" program.

Which one--the Charlton Heston Taylor, or the one in the remake?

The Charlton Heston Taylor, I hot-linked the title of film to its Internet Movie Database webpage to avoid any confusion. The remake did not have a Col. George Taylor in it. I hated the remake.
By the way Mr. Limborg, tell 7 of 9 I said hello the next time you see her in the collective. :)

I can see being an astronaut who goes through a psychedelic light show and emerges as a god-fetus, but where's the fun in getting shot in the throat, captured, caged, and hosed down naked by a bunch of apes?

Of course, there IS Nova.

Bingo! Being with Nova is worth the pain and torment by the apes in my opinion.

Ah. Of course. :)

Ah...no promises. :(

See, it's like this: Miss Nine and I...well, we had a little..."falling out" when I dumped her for Ezri Dax.

Uh...removing all the colorful metaphors, the conversation went something along the lines of:

"So--I am to understand that you no longer find me sufficent to suit your requirements."

"Well, Seven, look. It's not you, see. It's--"

"You intend to explain that you prefer the company of Lt. Ezri Dax to mine?"

"Um...well--"

"It is clear that my previous methods have proven to be...unsuccesful. Nonetheless...you will be assimilated!"

"Now, wait a minute--"

"Resistance is futile, Rush Limborg."

"HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!!!"

It's...a bit of a blank after that. Ezri had her work cut out for her, counseling me back to mental health.

Well Mr. Limborg I think it all worked out in the end. I believe 7 of 9 hooked up with the USS Voyager's First Officer, Chakotay. B'Elanna Torres is more my type. Even as a kid in the 1960s I was immediately attracted to Marlo Thomas from the tv show "That Girl" and then of course Linda Harrison from the film "Planet of the Apes".

I would primarily use the Holodeck as a place for ever changing residence or travel. Maybe I would stick with a certain living place for a while. But I wouldn't want it to be the same place for too long.

The bonus feature is that you could see the world and not run into any idiots unless you wanted to. You could pretty much fly like Superman to your destinations and sip piña coladas on top of mount everest or within a pool of molten lava without getting frozen or burned.

I would also use it as a self improvement tool, as well. I would work out with Arnold Schwarzenegger, learn physics from Einstein, paint and draw with the legends, learn karate from Bruce Lee, learn to how to survive in a forest by yourself and with nothing to aid you at all for at least six months, and learn to fire two sub machine guns accurately while jumping thru the air with Keanu Reeves.

However, I would also use it to...

Wrestle and win against a pack of wild grizzly bears after a good hearty sunny side up breakfast with some mermaids or something, too.

Here's an idea I just thought of. Isn't it more likely that instead of living in houses and apartments, people would simply purchase their own holodecks and create whatever kind of home they wanted and live in that?

Some might want that, but not me, for the same reason I wouldn't want all my media stored in a computer or online. Power goes out...there goes your stuff.

I try not to get attached to stuff. So I probably would choose to have a Holo House. I mean, could you imagine having to move? Dang. Talk about convenience.
