What would you change about this series?

I was half joking, but here goes:

Well, you see. It's. ...for starters, it's really, really long. And when I say it, it feels more than a little pretentious. Is it from a famous poem? Bible verse? Or did they make it up? If they made it up, it's even more pretentious.
Oh, and it doesn't make sense! The lamb doesn't cry. It's either put out by a machine, or the butcher ....well it dies swiftly. Then the butcher proceeds to separate and package the meat.

How about
"The wolf cares not for the lamb's cry"

That halfway improves it, and even shortens it...

-Prove me wrong.

First I'd bring other realities into it. Then point out that Discovery comes from a different quantum reality from the other star trek series like this:

Then cancel that show. Could start up a new series in the 25th century though

Here's something I'd change:

GIVE LORCA A FACEPALM.

seriously. All previous Trek captains have had epic facepalms. Lorca has not yet had one. This must be fixed, and fixed soon! :scream:

I still think the title might be some kind of roundabout reference to William Blake's classic "Auguries of Innocence."
It's the only literary work I can find that includes cries/outcries, a lamb, and a butcher's knife reasonably close together, though the cries are from figures other than the lamb. Here's one passage:

The Lamb misusd breeds Public Strife
And yet forgives the Butchers knife

So you don't like the show. I think we get it already. :brickwall:

I've watched all the episodes and I'm already getting bored with this story-line. There aren't that many fans of Klingons actually conversing in Klingon. Another bad thing, is that the engineering aspect of the spore drive is not all that believable. They got rid of that ugly beast that can live in the vacuum of space (without air) and live on spores floating in space. Now they've synthesized the beast's DNA and injected the gay engineer with it so that he can "conjoin" with the spore drive and navigate the universe. Yeah, now that's really believable... not.
They've been putting probes into this gay engineer's abdomen and he somehow lives and seems somewhat thrilled by the whole thing. Now that's novel. Why don't they really up his pleasure threshold and put those probes where the sun don't shine? I bet he's going to be really great at finding Klingons around Uranus, black holes, and other such places.

yeah yeah and I get that you must not see anything wrong with it. Investing money to watch a series appears to make some fans oblivious to the problems it has.

No. I recognize the show has imperfections that merit critique. Furthermore, I don't like the depiction of the Klingons, and I'm not keen on the Starfleet ship designs. And up until now, I have found many of the characters to be overly dour.

But overall, I choose to enjoy the show anyway instead of obsessing over every little thing that could have been done better, or wasn't quite what I was expecting, or doesn't match my personal taste.

1) Enjoying a show does not mean that there is nothing wrong with it. No Trek series or film is perfect.

2) Believing that those who do not share your view about a show must be oblivious is a remarkably narrow-minded position.

You must have mistaken this for someplace that welcomes homophobic remarks. It's not. Don't do this again.

Infraction for trolling. Comments to PM.

It's not that some of us are obsessing. It's the thread that's specifically asking us "what would we change about the series?"

It's not just about this particular thread. And when the thing that somebody would like to "change" about the series is to outright cancel it, then that's going far beyond constructive improvements to the show.

Kor

constructive improvements
The thread should of been more specific. But I do agree, that cancellation is way to harsh. I am personally going to wait to see this story arc completed before making any more comments about it. I truly am hoping for the best.

Discovery’s first 4 seasons is obviously going to be the Klingon federation war. Afterwards I expect they will preparing to transit to TOS settings.
