Bikers, shotguns, and zombies... what's not to like?
Dream “Video Game”?
(admitting that the last game I played was an Arcade Donkey Kong in my friends basement, decades ago)
Does a functional Holodeck count?
Oh, the internet and sci fi pop culture have some doozies. I always liked "shtako" from Defiance. lmao So punchy and fun to say. "Choobies" is another great one, this time from Star Wars. And then there's Farscape's ubiquitous "frell." Like, when you beat the shtako out of someone with a well-placed kick to the choobies, and then cops show up and you're like, "Frell me, I'm going to jail."

Yes I love that word and I miss Defiance. They should have been allowed to conclude the story the way they wanted. Season 4 would have wrapped it all up nicely,
Are Castithans related to plants? I read that online and it made me chuckle. Shtama Tarr was one not to be trifled with.
I would dearly love to see a Star Trek game on the same scale as Horizon Zero Dawn in a huge open world where you can build your ship, find your crew and save the galaxy
That would be badass. I loved playing Defiance--the quads were so much fun! I loved riding around and doing 360s and 720s off the jumps. lmao That was the best part of the game!
Why is it these game companies don't look far enough ahead to make proper sequels? Defiance suffered ONLY from the wrong company buying it to turn it into Defiance 2050. Should have opened up the other areas, hired the old programmers or bought the engine's programming software, and expanded it.
Star Trek meets Wing Commander meets Destiny. lmao Are you listening, Naughty Dog??? Looking at you, DICE! Rockstar, where you at??
I dunno...I kind of had a thing for Cass Ducar. lmao "Thanks for the help, friend!" she says while flipping the bird to the General. Slightly felonious, swore like a trucker, and always had your back.
Trion should never be allowed near video games again. Ever. They had lightning in a bottle, and all they had to do was tap it. Instead, they drove a spike and in it and charged people for vanity shtako that nobody wanted. Then, at the end, they somehow managed to reform the invisible wall so you couldn't go over it at the southern end by that base, but expected us to believe that they had no way to add more to the game? lmao Trion will never get a penny from me. I mean, I still have the hard copy of the game, but pff. It's empty.
With the vehicles, they should have allowed the passengers to swap seats so in the jeeps, for instance, you should have been able to use the passenger position to open fire on enemies as the driver went along. So many missed opportunities.
The invisible walls were the borders where you couldn't get past. Like by the crashed ship--on the far side of it was just procedurally generated landscape without features that you normallly couldn't access unless you gamed the game a bit and drove your quad up the hill just right, getting high enough to use your hologram ability that if you activated a second time, you would teleport to the hologram.
Those walls to keep you in playable areas changed. They always talked about expanding the game world, and the map showed an area in the middle that was supposed to expand (some prison area, if I recall right), but they never did. I used to jump the walls just to drive around and look at the landscapes. lol
