YOu know I have been waiting for years to see these scenes. I hoped they would have been on the dvd's but they never were.

I think Quark was kind of a breakout character. He was once on tv guide wearing a Hawaian shirt I think it was. He was both on TNG and Voyager and they tried to get him in one of the movies. Plus some the stuff they added was more universe based. Section 31,The Maquis how we now look at the Ferengi and Carddisans and also the Trill and Bajorans even though many of these things were first seen on TNG.

The most basic version of it is that Terry wanted to do fewer episodes in the the final season, the execs said that was not acceptable and that they wanted her to be present for all of them.I'm unclear why Terry left, was she getting paid less if she renewed her contract?
Fairly central in Sword of Kahless, too.I noticed something about Dax in season 4. Except for "REJOINED" and her shared scenes with Bashir in "STARSHIP DOWN" and "THE QUICKENING", she didn't gave the spotlight on her at all.
She wanted to do only half the season.I wonder how many fewer episodes she wanted to do.
She was not fired. She requested to not be in all the episodes. She wanted to be a recurring character. You can’t be in a situation on our shows where somebody is just going to do seven out of thirteen. I love that people, including some of these actors, love to think that I had all this power. The studio basically said “no way.” She’s a regular character and she does all twenty-six episodes or nothing. And I think there was a big battle with her attorneys or agents with the studio. I don’t remember whether this had to do with money or had to do with her refusal to be in every episode, but she ended up departing. It certainly was not my choice. It was the loss of a character and it was difficult for us.
"Rick Berman said I was hardballing him, and I was, like, “I’m not. I just want to have a conversation. You’re giving me a take-it-or-leave-it offer and I’m not okay with that.” So I finally did have a conversation with him and asked to cut down my number of episodes or just let me out.

Deep Space Nine had higher ratings than Voyager almost the entire time it was on. The only exception was right at the start of Voyager's first season.

DS9 pulled in nielson ratings of 19 for The Emissary. That's higher than any TNG episode! Season 1 was a pretty steep drop from 14 million viewers to 9 million, which was bottom end of TNG ratings. It's clear that many viewers watched the first season and then abandoned the show.
TNG can be considered Berman-era and it didn't.All of the Berman era Treks had big steady drops post premiere.
I guess she really wanted to be in Becker. I caught a few of those episodes. Yes, she had more exposure as an actress on that show than on DS9, but her character was limited to delivering one-liners. I can't imagine that was very satisfying for an actor. And in the end, Terry (by her own words) gave them an ultimatum and they made their choice.

Terry didn't actually test for Becker until she was already wrapped on DS9.I guess she really wanted to be in Becker.
My understanding is a lot of TNG viewers hated that they made the decision to have Sisko irrationally blame Picard for his wife's death.
