What was up with Zoe Saldana's... (trailer spoiler)

I saw the trailer today when I watched Quantum of Solace, and I noticed a quick clip where Zoe Saldana does a "quickeroo!" in changing into her red regulation uniform.

So, the girls still wear 20th century style department store white bras in the 23rd century? ;)

Why not, its not out of the question that the design of a bra will stay the same by the 23rd century, after all there were a number of items which were the same as today a hundred years after that like mugs, plates, bowls & cutlery.

Apparently, its a plot point

Spock uses the Bra to get back to the 24th Century. By tweaking the left and right cups he can create temportal subspace field energy. Or it could be slingshot around the sun again. I'm not sure.

I need some time travelin...

Trek fans tend to be terrified of sex, tits, bras etc in their Trek movies...

So they didn't want to cause strokes by introducing futuristic, even more incomprehensible, impossible to unhook underwear.

Or since she was going to get it on with Kirk, she wore an antic bra to make him even more aroused...given his love for the old.

Sounds good to me. Hit it Kirk!

Well, since the basic shape and form of breasts is still the same in the 23rd century, I don't see why bras should undergo drastic changes. :)

Is it true that JTK and Nyota Uhura are going to get it on in this film?

This definitely counts as the "first interracial kiss" according to the TOS chronology. ;)

I thought a 'quickeroo' was the term for an Australian cowboy with premature ejaculation issues.

I just hope they do cool things. I mean, a bra is a bra, but a futuristic bra should be better!

Perhaps a bra with a holographic system that creates the perfect sized breasts.

Enterprise: "The decontamination chamber and catsuits are embarassing and puerile."

Star Trek XI: "What are you all a bunch of prudes? Haha, you virgins need to get out more."

Yeah, because people don't have enough body image issues in the 21st century!

I'm just sayin...the technology probably exists in Star Trek. We just never see it.
given that the rest of the universe is not as enlighten as Earth and the federation, we have seen female lap dancers before in Trek (The Final Frontier) It is very possible that away from the safe federation enviroment, women use similar technology to "attract" men.

What bothered me about the decon chamber and the catsuits was not that they were sexual, but that they struck me as not serving a character purpose. The decon chamber was just an excuse to have the characters in their underwear rubbing jelly all over each other, and the catsuits were, frankly, inconsistent with how Vulcans were depicted as dressing before (and since).

From what we can tell from the trailer, Uhura's being in her bra and whatnot -- that's a part of the character. This Uhura, unlike T'Pol, possesses an overt sexuality that she chooses to express; I've therefore got no problem with that being depicted. (T'Pol's sexuality was, for the most part, depicted as being far more covert, which is appropriate -- except that the catsuit is inconsistent with the idea of a sublimated sexuality. Exhibitionists dress like that, not military officers, and not Vulcans with sublimated sexualities.)
