What was the first episode of any Star Trek show that you ever saw?

Re: What was the first episode of any Star Trek show that you ever saw

I think the first trek episode I saw was 'Encounter at Farpoint', although I remember seeing 'the menagarie' when I was really young. (I was born in 1991)

Re: What was the first episode of any Star Trek show that you ever saw

The first episode I saw was the second part of the first Borg attack on earth in TNG. Picard was a Borg. Thats all I remember.

TOS episode where that pied piper guy was making those kids do bad things and they turned on him and in the end he melted.

And the Children Shall Lead?

Surprised you stuck around after that one.

wow ok getting into the waaaaaaaaay back machine, it was " The Doomsday Machine " sometime in the mid-late 1970's I think i was 5, nyc's channel 11( then just known as wpix ) showed TOS at midnight every weeknight, that was the one that got me hooked, not only on trek but on sneaking on my tv late nights...

TNG: Coming of Age

I didn't watch the full episode but caught a few minutes of if at a cousins place when I was 6 years old. It was the scene where the shuttle was stolen and for the longest time, I thought that's where the pilot of the Enterprise sat.

Re: What was the first episode of any Star Trek show that you ever saw

The earliest one I can remember is "Balance Of Terror" when it first ran (or it's repeat later in the season)...I was 3 when TOS premiered, and the episode obviously made an impression on me as I was drawing pictures of Federation starships fighting the "ship with the bird on it" when I was in kindergarten, before TOS went into syndication.

Re: What was the first episode of any Star Trek show that you ever saw

I grew up watching TOS in syndicated re-runs, and I started watching it when I was knee-high, so it's impossible to say which episode was my first, but I do remember "Catspaw" very clearly, from those days. They seemed to re-play that one more often than any other ep. I wonder if that makes it my first ep. ever?

The thing that really made me a die-hard Trekkie, tho, was seeing TMP on the ABC Sunday Night Movie. Dang, it was cool, watching those Sunday night blockbusters! They had James Bond, Superman....this was before VCRs, BTW, youngsters!

Re: What was the first episode of any Star Trek show that you ever saw

The earliest recollection I have of Trek is seeing staticy images on an old black and white tv of Kirk and Spock running around in the tunnels on Devil in the Dark. This would have been very early 1970s.

That was me in the early eighties, except I'm not sure which episode it was. I just remember seeing spock and thinking "What the hell is that?"

Re: What was the first episode of any Star Trek show that you ever saw

I remember that the very first episode I saw was "The Menagerie". I began watching during that really corny scene where Pike was feeding his horse in that field. I will never know how on earth that got me hooked, but for some reason I kept watching.....

I don't think any non-cable network shows a regular weekly movie anymore...I think ABC was the last, now they only show them on ABC Family or Disney Channel...

Re: What was the first episode of any Star Trek show that you ever saw

I can't remember the first full episode. I do however, have a vivid memory of a shirtless Sulu chasing people with a sword. My dad walked into the living room and changed the channel. He said that the show was too violent. This would have been in 1980 at the ripe old age of 4.

Re: What was the first episode of any Star Trek show that you ever saw

The first episode I remember watching is TOS episode Let That Be Your Last Battlefield. The episode with Frank Gorshin-(The Riddler in 1966 Batman series starring Adam West). Frank's face was black on one side and white on the other. I remember I was having a sleepless night so I turned on the tv and went through the channels. I came across that episode and watched it. Instant Trek fan after that.

Re: What was the first episode of any Star Trek show that you ever saw

Not sure. I'm pretty sure the first Trek movie I ever saw was STIII.

The eps that spring to mind would be the TOS one where the alien throws Kick and Co in the Wild West town or the TNG ep with Worf getting pain sticked. DIdn't see either episode all the way through, caught them towards the end.

Re: What was the first episode of any Star Trek show that you ever saw

I have vague memories of watching TOS reruns with my older brothers in the mid-80's. I distinctly remember watching the series premiere of TNG as a nine-year old and not being able to eat my pizza whenever Worf's disgusting veiny forehead was onscreen.

Jeez. I also found pale, goiter-necked Bib Fortuna far more ugly than Jabba the Hut, whom I though was kind of cute...his head was a good shape.

Re: What was the first episode of any Star Trek show that you ever saw

First episode I can recall seeing was TNG "Disaster". I would've been very young at the time. And by judging from UK airdates it could've been the original UK showing too.

Re: What was the first episode of any Star Trek show that you ever saw

I know I was young and it was in the days when TOS was in reruns in the 70's (The TV remote was 'who ever was closest to the TV').
Since they were reruns it could have been any of them.

Re: What was the first episode of any Star Trek show that you ever saw

Encounter At Farpoint, IIRC.

I remember the good old days of BBC 2, TNG on a Wednesday, DS9 Thursday, TOS Friday (although I never watched it) and Voyager on a Sunday.

Re: What was the first episode of any Star Trek show that you ever saw

"Mantrap" when it first aired. First episode. I remember it more clearly than any birthday party I ever had as a kid, and better than most Christmas Days.It meant more to me than religion or Apple Pie.
which is why I'm a curmudgeon now.
