What Tie-ins would you like to see?

I would really like a couple of LEGO sets based on Discovery, or any other Trek franchise. The Kelvin universe has got some Kre-O sets in recent years but nothing compares to LEGO quality, both in design and manufacture.
Mega Bloks has the rights for Star Trek building sets, they released a whole bunch of TOS and TNG sets last year.

Ships. Lots of ships. Diecast, model kits, model toys. It's great that Eaglemoss is doing them but I also expect Art Asylum/Diamond Select, Polar Lights/Round 2 and Revell.

Also role-playing toys and replicas like (com)badges, phasers, communicators by Diamond Select and QMx.

I know we're getting novels, which is nice, but I would love a Discovery Technical Manual like those we had in the olde days.

Toilet paper and anti-nausea medicine. For the enraged fans.

They'll make a mint.
Nah, we can't dull our rage. Life has no meaning unless we experience the rage full on and share on the internet how enraged we are, and why we are enraged, and that the latest episode was so terrible and a violation of Trek's spirit that we had to go and watch something like Home Soil just to centre ourselves again.

Home Soil was just...horrible. You may as well just watch 'Justice' over and over and over again. Nothing says "star trek" more than everyone having sex at the drop of a hat (or something else) while wesley gets sentenced to death.

Good point, Justice is probably the closest we'll get to Gene's Vision of a (semi)nudist paradise with love instructors. It's just missing the pet tigers.

I will go along with the desire for a decent game. Something like Elite Force but with the cast of Discovery. Beyond that tie-in novels, but as mentioned we will probably be getting those anyway.

Decent action figures. A lot of the Trek action figure lines in recent years have been in scales larger than I prefer. And the ST09 figures were "meh. "

Shame they managed to get him out of it.

The STO9 figures are embarrassing. Even the Playmates toys from the 90s are more impressive.

It will be interesting to see which scale Eaglemoss do the ships from this series in, their regular scale makes the most sense but I wouldn't be surprised if we get at least the Discovery herself considered in the larger scale of the Kelvin specials and the upcoming Enterprise's (especially as I am sure they said they would be doing all the hero ships in that scale so we should be seeing the 1701-A, NX-01, Defiant and Voyager... If that happens Discovery should follow the pattern).

Happy to hear there will be novels and comics but I would love both a technical manual but a behind the scenes/art book in a format similar to the Marvel ones would be great.

QMX are bound to be up for creating the uniform insignia seeming they have already made 5 versions (plus 3 variations each for 2 of them) of the Delta so far and it wouldn't be a surprise if Anovos were hard at work recreating the costumes.

Im not sure if we will see a return to Trek being found in major stores but it would be great to see as I used to love seeing part of an isle dedicated to the show in Toys R Us back when I was young.

Most importantly though is whenever the series debuts I want to see some of these tie in's available as close to that point as possible. While I find it odd to see toys for movies or shows in stores months before release its worse when you have to wait months after for a pre-order to be completed for something that by then you probably aren't that hyped on!

Hopefully with the delays any licencees will be able to make sure they can start releasing when the show hits.

I think those days are now of a bygone era. Star Trek Beyond was tailor-made for a big toyline, but no toy company was interested in picking up the license other than Funko for their POP figures.

Historically, toy companies want their toys in stores months before a movie or a TV series debuts because that's the period when sales are at their highest. Almost as soon as the movie or series debuts, sales go down. Fast. After about a month, they can become pegwarmers or destined for markdown, which isn't good for neither retailers or toy companies.

I'd like to see a decent cartoon series for kids with the same crew or a parallel storyline.

Bioware has done great stuff with Star Wars, and their own Mass Effect series, so I would love to see what they could do with Trek.

Funko is mostly known for their Pop! figures, but they also have two action figure lines, Reaction, which are lower quality retro style figure, and Legacy, which are more detailed, higher quality figures. I would love to see some Legacy Discovery figures.

I'd like a decent video game too.

Preferably a single player RPG with an original crew and a canon ship

novels, comics, action figures, a decent video game (better than the games they've had lately, like that 2013 Kelvin verse game)
