What Programs Are You Watching on TV?

It is amazing that I don't watch the major networks anymore for my entertainment.

Mad Men
Breaking Bad
Eureka
Haven
Covert Affairs
Rizzoli & Isles
Law & Order: Criminal Intent
Dexter
V

and I miss:
Nip/Tuck
The Shield
Law & Order
Star Trek: TOS

I'm dropping Mad Men. I just cannot bring myself to care one iota for any of the characters. Plus I work in advertising. It's no fun to watch an episode about a clueless butthead client on Sunday night knowing that Monday morning will bring a meeting with a clueless butthead client for real. :rommie: Throwing Don Draper tantrums is not a real-world option in a time of 10% unemployment.

Haven is gone and Persons Unknown is on the bubble.

The only things I've been watching this summer are Burn Notice and White Collar on USA, and Eureka on SyFy.

I tried Covert Affairs and was not really impressed - I'll keep it on my radar and check in over the next few weeks to see if it gets better. Ditto for Haven.

Have no idea what I'll do come the regular season. No LOST. No Cold Case. So I'll be down to Castle, Bones, and NCIS, I guess. Although I'm thinking of watching SVU again, and giving NCIS: LA another try. Fingers crossed that In Plain Sight comes back. I really like that show too, but no decision has been made yet, last I heard.

Still sticking wtih The Simpsons and waiting for the 3rd season of Being Human (UK), NCIS and hm, is Fringe back yet?

Just finished my ... third? ... rewatch of DS9 last week and have started on Fringe again, I'm halfway through season 1. The Cure I thought was an awful episode but it's gotten quite a bit better since then. The various threads actually seem to be leading somewhere interesting at this point.

Fringe really likes to push the limits of plausibility doesn't it?
Weaponized radiology implants? Oh, please.

Also watching True Blood which has gotten really good again recently. Last week's episode was awesome. Oh and Futurama which is also pretty good.

In the fall I'll probably pick up House, Mythbusters, Simpsons, Family Guy and of course Dexter again. That Martin Scorcese show about the boardwalk seems interesting as well. Anything Steve Buscemi is in is probably worth a watch.

I don't like watching TV but usually... I watch Brainiac or other science (or "pseudo-science" ;)) programs. Sometimes I like to see simple program about fashion or News from the world.
But I watch TV very rarely.

I added Covert Affairs, Haven, and White Collar to my Hulu subscriptions, with White Collar being the best. I like Covert Affairs because I've loved Kari Matchett ever since Earth Final Conflict. :) And Haven is okay enough to fill some time.

Been watching Veronica Mars on Netflix and loving it. :techman:

The Event and No Ordinary Family look promising, along with Terra Nova at midseason. And of course Dexter!!! I'll give L&O: LA a shot, never having seen a L&O series before.

I just watched the pilot of Rubicon and liked it. Too bad AMC hasn't joined the Hulu bandwagon yet. :(

I couldn't get all the way thru the Rubicon premiere. Yet another spy/conspiracy show. I think I'm really tapped on on that schitck. It has to have something extraordinary to overcome my boredom level.

Gave up on Persons Unknown, due to a stunningly stupid plot twist next week. Piled on top of all previous stupidity, that was the proverbial straw.

This summer is truly wretched for TV. I'm down to Futurama (the one bright spot) and The Gates (probably will dump it soon).

Red Dwarf should start filming in January. We can hope that will be decent, at least.

And filming for Doctor Who S6 may already be underway, though it'll be April before we see it here.

Ixnay on dumping The Gates - just saw last nights ep, and it's actually shaping up surprisingly well. The new TV season is just a month or so away...I can hang on till then...

Doctor Who, Torchwood, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Sherlock, Entourage, and Smallville are basically the only shows that I follow right now.

Funny, I gave up on that one after the pilot. I decided I was tired of shows where they tell the audience all the secrets and then make us watch the protagonists struggle painfully to figure them out. That, and I'm really over the "vampirism = eroticism" thing. :)

I almost dumped it four times during the first four eps, but they've got a good groove going now. I've never cared for any vampire show, but one thing I like about this one is that they aren't banking on any overused tropes like the "vampirism = eroticism."

I follow very few series these days. Just about the only shows that I catch on a regular basis are the ones that my kids rope me into watching with them: Clone Wars, Pokemon, iCarly, Jonas Bros., and SpongeBob. On my nights off from work (I work the graveyard shift), I watch a lot of Adult Swim, and I try to catch up on missed shows via Hulu and Netflix. I'm caught up on SGU, I saw the Lost finale live, and I try to stay on top of The Simpsons and Breaking Bad. There are lots of others that I'm waaaay behind on, such as Futurama, House, Mad Men, Dexter, Supernatural, Smallville, Big Bang Theory, and about a zillion more. Maybe I'll catch them all on some futuristic format in the year 2070, when I retire, eh? ;)

You've got some great unseen stuff in your queue, like Futurama, House, and Dexter. You're kind of lucky--no surfing through 500 channels with nothing worth watching.

Well, that's gonna be a long list.

Covert Affairs
Leverage
Rizzoli and Isles
Hot in Cleveland
White Collar
Burn Notice

The rest of the year, I watch:
Stargate Universe
Chuck
House
Grey's Anatomy
The Big Bang Theory
How I Met Your Mother

Good stuff.
