What novel would have made a great movie/episode?

Pretty much self explanatory. If you had the powers of Q and could make any Trek novel a two-part episode or even a movie, what would you chose? (Actor availability is not an issue. If you've got the ultimate TOS 5YM story, it would be done with Shatner, Nimoy and crew as they looked then.)

I think a lot of the episodes are better suited to multi-episode arcs, miniseries, or even full seasons in a couple of cases.

That said, I'd love to see a few of David Mack's "smaller" books on the screen. Zero Sum Game would make a great movie and A Ceremony of Losses would be an amazing two-parter.

If I could have a story with actors looking as they did then, the answer is easy:

Federation.

I would have love to have seen "Dark Mirror" as a two-parter. If for no other reason that to see the MU Ent-D and Counselor Troi in the get-up described in the novel.

First one that came to my mind was The Entropy Effect as a TOS two-parter or movie set during the 5 year mission.

For the later series, I agree that Destiny would make a great film, especially with the appropriate budget or script. A two-part episode/TV movie of Avatar from the DS9 relaunch would be a great way to start a new DS9 series.

My first choice would be Spock's World for a TOS movie . . . oh, but too bad - it just would work. Not enough action and no space battles - unfortunately, it only has an interesting story and fascinating characters.

Abyss from the DS9 relaunch would be great. I always picture Martin Sheen as Cole of Section 31 after I read the DS9 staff considered casting Sheen as Sloan.

I would love to see Vanguard and Titan on screen.
My absolute dream would be a live action Titan series, with Jim Henson Creature Shop animatronics and puppets a la Farscape for the non-humanoid characters like Ree and Torvig.

Intellivore. Although in that one I feel like they would have been tempted to convert that into a Borg movie (I might have preferred that to some of First Contact's shenanigans, actually).

I also tend to think Dreams of the Raven would have made a decent TOS movie, as would the "New Earth" novels. Either of them could be pretty amazing as Abramsverse flicks.

I would love to see Full Circle as a mini-series...but my number one choice would have to be a 5 season (10 eps per season maybe) showing of Vanguard :techman:. I'd also like to see some stories starring Klag and the IKS Gorkon crew :klingon:

I've always thought that Star Trek Insurrection should have been about the Enterprise being an active participant of the Dominion War, so I'd easily swap it out for The Battle For Betazed.

Enterprise: Rise of the Federation -- A Choice of Futures would make an excellent Enterprise: The Motion Picture.

Dark Mirror and Federation could've easily been movies. Battle for Betazed requires a bit of temporal futzing around to replace Insurrection, but the two part TNG Dominion War story could've easily done it.

Rogue Saucer, The Romulan Prize, and Rogue Saucer could've easily been TNG two-parters.

I can't say much about the DS9 or Voyager novels, because I haven't read most of them, but The Siege (DS9), that one DS9 novel about the Cardassians in stasis that Garak released, The Escape (Voy), and The Murdered Sun (Voy) would've made good two parters.
