Novels set in an alternate timeline which has since been destroyed. Indeed, the Coda trilogy even established that the Borg have different origins in other timelines than the one depicted in the Destiny series. The novels have addressed the origins of the Borg and the "Conspiracy" parasites is ways I found very satisfying.

No, there's really nothing--certainly not origins--I need to know. I want the stories to progress and be good stories. Origins stories come when the writers start running out of ideas IMO. It would be nice to know Jake landed on his feet, something that could be done in some throwaway dialogue.Ther are many things in Star Trek that are not explained. Origin of Borg. Who the Jem;Hadar were before the Founders modified them. What is the origin of Q. Barash's species. Where did all these strtange entities from TOS came from It woul take a lot to list all of it. I ask you: what star Trek mystery would you liek to see solved. And, if you want, tell is how would you solve it (in as many details, or as less, as you want).
Plot is always the reason. Why was a perfectly good ship (the Enterprise-F) decommissioned for no good reason other than for the plot?
Tuesday.What happened to the Enterprise-B?
What happened to the Enterprise-E?
Why was a perfectly good ship (the Enterprise-F) decommissioned for no good reason other than for the plot?
Why was the Enterprise A decommissioned?
Plot is always the reason.
I'd also like to know what happened to Tom Riker.
Lower Decks didn't fill in the details, but they did establish that 10 years after "Defiant", Thomas Riker was still alive and no longer in Cardassian custody. But I'd definitely like to find out what happened to Tom Riker.
This is the one that has been haunting me. I need to know!Who the hell is / was / will be Future Guy?
And this is the other big mystery for me. Give me some "Conspiracy" follow-up and tell me who Future Guy is, and I'll be happy. What were the parasites from "Conspiracy" and are there any others out there?
Is this in reference to someone?Became a game show/reality tv host?

Agreed, sort of. I don't think Future Guy should be an established character - reeks too much of "small galaxy syndrome". But what should be important is what species they are and/or who they work for.The trouble with giving us an answer to the Future Guy mystery, is that it'd either be something absurd like Wesley Crusher, Gul Dukat or Captain Archer, or it'd just be some guy from the future. I think the only way that that Enterprise could've revealed it in a satisfying way is if they'd introduced a new character in season 5 who seemed friendly and innocent but then turned out to be Future Guy at the end of the season.
