What is your personal head canon?

I can dig the SNW-era E being refitted to look like the TOS-era E, but there just ain't no way to rationalize the extreme size difference.

I just ignore the size difference and just see both as always being the same size.

And really, the TOS/TMP Enterprise, along with the Excelsior, are really much larger than the 'official' sizes given to them over the years. So I don't have a problem with any size discrepancy. I have problems with the ship, but that's not one of them.

Because Kirk never entered the Nexus. He died on the Enterprise-B when he got sucked out into space. The 'Kirk" that Picard met was just another fantasy concocted by the Nexus to keep him there.
Nah. Spock devised a way to rescue Kirk from the Nexus in 2293. The guy that Picard met in the Nexus was just Kirk's echo. ;)

Well, I was going by what the actual film showed (i.e. that the official stance by the 24th century was that Kirk was killed on the Enterprise-B.)

Nah, clearly the crash and transporter loop caused him to shift timelines. He's using that shuttle to fix it.

Probably a bad time for me to post this but, on a similar but unrelated note:

According to the Ship of Theseus theory, the Enterprise-D Rebuild is more the original Enterprise-D than the Enterprise Refit was the original Enterprise. Even with stardrive section of the Enterprise-D Rebuild coming from the Syracuse.

Or so you would think. I have a workaround for the Enterprise Refit and that's where the head canon of my post kicks in. I think a lot of the TOS Enterprise was melted down and then recycled into the TMP Enterprise. So, I think it's more of the same ship than actual canon might suggest, if it has most of the same raw material.

I can believe treknobabble that there's a limited supply of duranium and tritanium...neither of which can be replicated. :)

Glenn Corbett is what Zefram Cochrane looked like before the radiation poisoning, alcohol abuse and depression resulting from World War III made him look like James Cromwell. After all Kirk and McCoy tell one another that "he looks familiar" before they find out that he is indeed Zefram Cochrane and still alive, so my guess is that history texts in the childhoods of both have photos of Cochrane as he appears in "Metamorphosis(TOS)" and prior to 2053.

As for the height discrepancy between Corbett and Cromwell, well, that's forever a mystery and probably should remain one.
