That said, I think I would've liked Seven even better if she'd been allowed to graduate to wearing a Starfleet uniform permanently at some point, I hated the catsuit.
I'll go along with that. The science blue really looked good on her. I also think Neelix looked good in a gold one, and maybe if he hadn't looked like a tacky sofa, he would have evolved into a more serious (and interesting) character.

Agreed on Seven. Starfleet uniform looks good on her too. Althought IO wonder why people re not conmplaining about what Kes wore (especially since, in her last epsiodes, she also had catusits, true that they werre less tight than Seven's. I acutally think what Kes wore during hetr last month on Voyager inspired the Doctor in - universe, but that's not here).

Most of Kes's civilian outfits were flattering, but did not accentuate her... ah, assets the way Seven's did.

That being said, a blue Starfleet uniform would have worked for her, too. If the Maquis were wearing them, why not the other crew?

Yeah, but the Doctor didnl;t design Kes' clothes.

As for why she didn't wore unfirms, she probably wanted this. She wasnl;t Starfleet. Maquis officially became starfleet, Kes and Neelix did not, and had no rank.

My point. The Maquis didn't sign up for Starfleet, most didn't attend the Academy. It just do happens that the three main Maquis associated characters did. So why fast-track them, but not Kes and Neelix (who were there by choice, not because they had no other ride home)?

Probably Nereelix and Kes didn't want to be in Starfleet. Also, they were not wanted by the Federation, so they might have benn given that choice.

Where Kes is being discussed, it usually comes up. But as @BohandiAnsoid said, it is best that we not dwell on it, as is the case with any depressing subject.

Though I assert that no ship works well for Kes (due to the chronological elephant in the room), I will admit that I did enjoy Tom's description of the love they shared, in the B&A timeline. There's something wonderfully tragic about giving yourself to a love that is destined to burn so bright and be extinguished so soon. :wah:

I certainly felt that way the first time I watched the show. I also hated Seven for the simple reason that she was brought in to replace Kes. On subsequent rewatches I've learned to appreciate Seven for what the character brings to the show. That said, I think I would've liked Seven even better if she'd been allowed to graduate to wearing a Starfleet uniform permanently at some point, I hated the catsuit.
The same here.

I couldn't stand seeing her and I wasn't particularily nice to her in my comments.
That was stupid, something I really regret.

My biggest problem with Seven wasn't actually Seven herself and definitely not actress jeri Ryan but those in charge of the show, how they made Voyager become "The Seven of Nine show" and their stupid comments about "Seven saved the show" and what a gift to Star Trek she was.

Not to mention all those Star Trek magazines with posters and pictures of Seven everywhere and certain Seven fans showing their malice over that Kes was dumped.

Later I learned to appreciate Seven and actress Jeri Ryan more. I was actually happy to see Seven show up in PIC, one of the few bright spots in that series.

Not to mention when Jeri Ryan showed up as one of Gibbs's ex-wives in NCIS!
Great perofrmance and great episode in one of my favorite series!

I actually like Neelix's "tacky sofa" appearance.

But I would have liked to see him in a gold uniform, just as he did for some short seconds in Tuvix.

And Kes would have looked great in Starfleet blue!

I think that it should have been good if Kes and Neelix had Starfleet uniforms too, just like Seven had later on in the show.

Probably Neelix and Kes didn't want to be in Starfleet. Also, they were not wanted by the Federation, so they might have benn given that choice.
But some of the Maquis who were forced into wearing Starfleet uniforms wanted it even less than Kes and Neelix have might. Both Kes and Neelix wanted to join the crew.

Kes would have looked great in a Starfleet uniform.

I guess Kes would look great in almost anything. So would Seven and B'Elanna (and I am only not lisitng Janeway here because I don't really care how she looks).

Also, do you think, which departemnt would Seven be if she had Starfleet uniform (the moment she did have was during infiltration, so I am noit sure it is right)?

Seven is science all the way, so she would wear a blue uniform. Kes is medicine, so she would wear the same. Neelix is harder to categorize, but when he wears a utility jumpsuit, he wears one with gold trim. And of course, when assorted AU circumstances required that he wear a uniform, he wore gold. And they all looked good. Though yes, Kes and Seven would look good in anything.

I've been thinkg about starting a similar thread on Seven, but I have doubts about that, since I would like to keep all such discussion Voyager - focused (or at least old Trek - focused).

There were some decent choices as a partner for Seven on Voyager. Chakotay simply wasn't one of them.

On that, I certinely agree.

I personally like Seven/Harry the best (especially if it's an AU where Kes stayed on Voyager... some of the best things I wrote for Voyager was Kes talking to both Seven and Harry and trying to explain and set things straight after that scene in "Revulsion")

It makes me mad when people keep calling Neelix a pedophile because he was with Kes. What the hell? :wtf: Kes may have been an Ocampa, and thus only meant to live a few years, but she was still an adult.

Yeah, I don;t understand that either. I guess they are... limited in their perspective.
