Fourth was the best, imo, because it finally fulfilled its potential as a prequel to all of Trek. Third was good on its own, but just too serialized for my liking. First is better on a second viewing, and I still contend that Broken Bow is an amazing premiere.

Second is not good, despite a couple gems.

Clearly 4, because... I found it most entertaining. It's got a somewhat TOS-sy feel, but in this case I found it worked reasonably well. 3 was better than 1 and 2, but I found the Xindi arc A) not that interesting and B) far too long. Season 4's mini-arcs were a great relief for me after the 20-something episode arc of season 3.

I also don't like Archer's character development in season 3, and ethical concerns about his actions are shrugged off too casually for my liking.

It's hard to pick between 4 and 3 for me. I really liked the Xindi arc but season 4 has some of what I think are the best episodes in trek, period. There are some real weak spots in the first two seasons.
