According to Wikipedia, Joe Dante had no creative freedom on it and has called it "the longest year and a half of my life". Makes me wonder what he would have done if he was able to do what he wanted.

I found that surprising when I first heard it, and still do, because Back in Action feels very much like a Joe Dante movie to me.

I'm sorry you had to go through all that to find it, but I totally get that "old memory tickling the brain" thing, so glad it all fell into place.

Eh. It's my fault for getting rid of my old copy in the first place. Even if I don't watch it, it's good to have a copy of the classics for just this reason!
