What if Quinn had not committed suicide in Star Trek Voyager?

What impact would the knowledge of Quinn had on the course of UFP history?
Who is to say he would utilize that knowledge? Quinn was someone who wanted something different than just the knowledge that being a Q afforded him. I think he would spend more time in interpersonal relationships, getting to know people, having experiences, than focusing on impacting the Federation.

I don't think Quinn would have spilled his vast store of advanced knowledge to the Federation. He preferred to help out in more subtle ways. The times when Quinn had visited Earth in the past, his contributions were from one-on-one interactions with individuals, which had positive effect on those individual lives while also keeping humanity going in the direction that it was already going on its own.

Quinn made the apple fall on Newton's head, but Newton formulated his theory of gravitation himself without Quinn actually telling him anything (to be nitpicky, the whole thing with the apple falling on Newton's head and inspiring that singular 'a-ha' moment probably didn't happen that way in real life, but canonically it did happen in the Trek reality). And Woodstock was an event of cultural significance, but Quinn didn't formulate the whole thing himself or take some leading role. The music and the whole cultural zeitgeist were already in place. He just made sure the thing wasn't canceled because of sound system failure.

Voyager crew to Quinn: Look, erm, we understand you wanted the right to become mortal and all that, we get it, but now that you're here anyway, could you pretty please tell us how tp become immortal in the first place?
Quinn (in Kosh' s (Babylon 5) voice ) : You are not ready for immortality.

I think it probably would have ended up being how they used Seven of Nine's Borg knowledge... only mentioning it when they encounter rando alien of the week.

He's be in the hands of Section 31 within a day or two of helping Voyager get home.

This brings up the question of what The Continuum would allow. For starters, would his vast knowledge deteriorate in a meat brain? If not, I can't imagine the other Q would allow him to divulge knowledge (willingly or otherwise) that would significantly advance humanity - certainly not anything that could potentially threaten The Continuum.

In TNG Parallels we saw infinite divergence.

For every reality where the Q stopped Quinn, there are infinite realities where they didn't, even if there's only one Q Continuum to monitor the entire multiverse.

The infinite divergence would be problematic in Deja Q, wouldn't it? Which version of Q is restored to full singular Q status with no multiversal counterpart?

To counter this, perhaps The Q have the ability to manipulate divergence, so in the event of any of their own being made mortal / stripped of their power, they're "constrained" to one branch of reality.

Or perhaps a simpler solution for The Continuum would be to plant a block within Quinn at the moment of his transformation to mortal status, thereby preventing any version of him from saying or doing anything to adversely affect The Continuum.

I could see Quinn being portrayed in a similar manner as Seven of Nine eventually was actually. The fish out of water, super smart, sassy, character that vexes our normal crew.

I suppose those versions would simply be 're-integrated', much like what was supposed to happen to the multiple timeline versions of 29th century Braxton. Whatever that may mean.

There's no guarantee that Quinn's knowledge would have been able to exist in a mere human brain. It's like when Data downloaded his memories into B4 in "The Autobiography of Jean-luc Picard". It didn't create another Data because the hardware couldn't handle that amount and type of information. Might be the same when Quinn goes from Q to human... some knowledge might be lost.

Well there was TNG "Deja Q" when DeLancie Q spent some time as a mortal human. It didn't seem like he lost anything of his knowledge or personality... at least that which was perceived by us primitives.

That might have been part of his punishment.
