Yeah. Fankwank is just one type of fanservice though. Fanservice is more typically used to mean adding sexually titillating content to media needlessly, but it can mean giving the fans "what they want" in a broad number of areas, including deciding to "ship" two characters based upon fan popularity, or butting in "epic" fight scenes.

Whatever it is called I want more. I remember many griping over how the 50th anniversary passed with so little fanfare, well now we're getting it in spades and it's about time. Discovery is the OS prequel I've been waiting for.
