What if Donna...

RoJoHen

Awesome
Admiral
...remembered everything and died...

...and then regenerated?!

I haven't seen any Doctor Who since "The End of Time." I'm waiting for the new season to come out on DVD, so I don't really know anything about Matt Smith or any of these new characters.

I just still really feel bad for Donna, and I want her to get better!

Then it'll be a sad day for Doctor Who, because following Torchwood New Earth failing, Russell T Davies will have barged back in and be at the helm again.

If you want more Donna Noble, buy Tate's godawful sketch show. All the characters are basically her.

It just wouldn't be the same.
The banter between her and Tennant's Doctor is what made those series so great (probably the only person who could give as good as she gets when it comes to that incarnation).

I think it's a bad idea.

I LOVE that there's a tragedy to it. It's a nice change of pace.

It's like when they brought Rose back after saying she's in an unreachable Universe... It diminished the goodbye.

To go a bit off topic for a moment, Not RoJoHen, when I look at your avatar, I keep seeing an angry Colonel Saul Tigh jack-o-lantern, rather than a pirate pumpkin!

Back on topic, it makes me sad to think of Donna going on and missing such a huge chunk of the most important experiences of her life-- and continuing on in a state not as happy as she should/could be. I do, however, agree that having the writers come up with some 'quick fix' to get her out of her situation cheapens the nature of the consequences of her sacrifice. Having her "die" and actually regenerate, however, seems like a solution/change dramatic enough that I might accept. I really liked the character that she grew into as she traveled with the Doctor. Her original (and current) personality is a bit too much for me, though.

^ I love that even more than I love CT's sketch with Daniel Craig. Very, very amusing.

I'm still bummed at Donna's fate. Love her to death.

I thought that was kinda what DID happen in The End Of Time Part II, except it only affected her brain and she was only reset to the state she was in before she began remembering.

It certainly looked a lot like Regeneration energy spilling out of her head. I figure her brain indeed burned up but the time lord energy still residing inside her healed the damage and restored her to a healthy-if-still-oblivious condition.

Donna may well never get to enjoy memory of travel to other eras and other planets, but hey, she Did win the Lottery. It would be nice to hear what became of her afterwards. Perhaps something that perpetuates itself beyond her lifespan. Maybe we'll hear a reference to the Noble Foundation or somesuch thing in passing in the distant future.
