Considering we're getting more and more news as next Wednesday's premiere approaches, I figured it was time for its own thread. To start off, here are a few news items...

First off, a clip from the Captain Carter episode:

As confirmed by the cast list below, Neal McDonough returns as Dum Dum but apparently that's not J.J. Feild as Falsworth (assuming that's suppose to be Falsworth).

Secondly, we have an official cast list for the season, provided by Marvel:

Andy Serkis (Klaue)
Angela Bassett (Ramonda)
Benedict Cumberbatch (Stephen Strange)
Benedict Wong (Wong)
Benicio Del Toro (The Collector)
Bradley Whitford (John Flynn)
Carrie Coon (Proxima Midnight)
Chadwick Boseman (T’Challa)
Chris Hemsworth (Thor)
Chris Sullivan (Taserface)
Clancy Brown (Surtur)
Clark Gregg (Phil Coulson)
Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill)
Danai Gurira (Okoye)
David Dastmalchian (Kurt)
Djimon Hounsou (Korath)
Dominic Cooper (Howard Stark)
Don Cheadle (James Rhodes)
Emily VanCamp (Sharon Carter)
Evangeline Lilly (Hope van Dyne)
Frank Grillo (Brock Rumlow)
Georges St-Pierre (Batroc)
Hayley Atwell (Peggy Carter)
Jaimie Alexander (Sif)
Jeff Goldblum (The Grandmaster)
Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton)
John Kani (T’Chaka)
Jon Favreau (Happy Hogan)
Josh Brolin (Thanos)
Karen Gillan (Nebula)
Kat Dennings (Darcy Lewis)
Kurt Russell (Ego)
Leslie Bibb (Christine Everhart)
Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner)
Michael B. Jordan (Killmonger/N’Jadaka)
Michael Douglas (Hank Pym)
Michael Rooker (Yondu)
Natalie Portman (Jane Foster)
Neal McDonough (Dum Dum Dugan)
Ophelia Lovibond (Carina)
Paul Bettany (J.A.R.V.I.S./Vision)
Paul Rudd (Scott Lang)
Rachel House (Topaz)
Rachel McAdams (Christine Palmer)
Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury)
Sean Gunn (Kraglin)
Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes)
Seth Green (Howard the Duck)
Stanley Tucci (Abraham Erskine)
Taika Waititi (Korg)
Tilda Swinton (The Ancient One)
Toby Jones (Armin Zola)
Tom Hiddleston (Loki)
Tom Vaughan-Lawlor (Ebony Maw)

Considering this massive list, it's even more surprising that Dave Bautista wasn't asked to voice Drax. Sounds like maybe there was some kind of falling out?

Also, I'm so thrilled to see Bradley Whitford's name in the list! Way back when the first trailer dropped, I could've sworn the person who said "I asked for an army!" sounded just like him. Appears that I was right!

Lastly, Chadwick Boseman recorded four episodes!

What If...? executive producer Brad Winderbaum confirmed Boseman's four-episode role in an exclusive interview with ComicBook.com. "He's in four episodes, actually," Winderbaum told ComicBook.com's Brandon Davis. "He plays different versions of the character. I wouldn't say that anything changed drastically. We wanted to honor, frankly, his performance and his eagerness to be a part of the project. In retrospect, he recorded this episodes for us knowing what we all know now. We wanted to honor what he did, so we actually didn't change a lot of it. There were certain things, in the context of his passing, especially musically...Lauren Karpman delivered what I think is an incredible score for the entire series and the way she approached T'Challa throughout, especially in light of his passing, is really beautiful."

It might also be his appearance was so short they didn't want to bother.

Really no way to know for sure. Might have been a budget thing.

There are a lot of chracters there I did not realize were going to be in it.

The showrunner wanted to bring a Star Wars chacter onto the show, but they wouldn't let her.
I find it a little funny that this came out now, since I was just talking about a Marvel/Star Wars crossover a couple days ago.

I was going to suggest that dialogue was recorded during the period when James Gunn was fired from the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie and Dave Bautista said he wouldn't do anything in the MCU in protest. But I guess that doesn't hold up since Michael Rooker said the same thing, and he's involved meaning there was enough time after Gunn was reinstated to record the dialogue for this show.

One episode pitch was axed because it was too similar to Guardians Vol 3's story

Yeah, that was brought up in the general Marvel thread.

On Twitter, someone asked Bautista about him not participating. He replied that he was never asked to participate. Even James Gunn was taken aback by that.
Yup, that's what I was referring to in my original post (which was also talked about in the general Marvel thread).

New featurette narrated by Jeffrey Wright and contains new footage:

That's from the original article. I wasn't going to take the time to edit all of those out. :p

If the release dates synced up a little better I would be halfway convinced that the episode with Spider Man wielding all of Doctor Strange's regalia was a direct Crossover with the upcoming Spider-Man movie. Now that would be a cool way to promote any one of the upcoming releases on the show by providing an alternate reality version of it on "What If?" They probably would do it after release because they would be too concerned about spoilers, but it would still be fun.

Yeah...although I find it weird that Tom Holland isn't voicing Peter considering his incredible enthusiasm for the role and eagerness to keep playing him after his contract expires.

...wait...do we actually have confirmation that it is Peter? Maybe that's why it's not him!

Sorry for the double post, but a new zombie-filled poster was released the other day.

Much better than the poster we're talking about in the Dune thread.

I watched a YouTube video that had an interesting theory that the Marvel Zombies were going to be a multiversal threat, as they apparently were in the comics....

... and that the Guardians of the Multiverse team teased by the merchandise reveal is the team assembled by The Watcher to stop them.
