I think we all have. 
TNZ again? Those guys have all the fun.

I've learned that I have a tiny bit of artistic skill and like art. I never knew that before.
Along the way, I picked up management skills. I've never managed over forty people before. The experience is useful, exasperating, fun, intriguing, you name it.
Working with others to turn this place around gave me confidence in myself.
I've met many wonderful people. Some I am friends with off of the TrekBBS.
For a short while, I experienced popularity. While fleeting, I found it utterly fascinating. I never knew the negative side of being popular, and being a Leo, I enjoyed the positive side of it.
If it weren't for TrekBBS, I wouldn't be in several Star Trek books, both under my TrekBBS name and my real name.
Some of the people on this board are incredibly generous and wonderful. I owe more than a few a debt of gratitude and I thank them for showing me that not all people are shitheads.
Interacting with various Star Trek celebs (those involved with creating Star Trek in some fashion, either the shows, movies or written novels, etc.) has been fun.
Being recognized unexpectedly at a convention by someone is pretty cool. Closest I'll ever come to fame unless I win the Powerball.
I've learned that I like to write. That was another unexpected thing.

I got me a spouse.
I got me some good communication skills with a wide selection of people of varying ages, genders, and locations around the world.
I've learned a lot of tolerance from being here.
I've picked up a massive amount of useless information which I'll never need.
I've had good company during some tough periods of my life, very often late into the night.
The site owners could definitely do with a bunch of flowers from me. If only they had a mailing address.
This is pretty much how I feel. Er, minus the whole spouse thing!
I've learned a lot, been surprised at my own ignorance and that of others. I've felt my worldview and outlook challenged by the downright nastiness and opinions of others. But it's also shown me the sheer loveliness of some people here, and for that I'm very grateful.
It's also helped me step out of the whole America-centric mindset just a smidge!
Allowed me to post with many cool people. Some I have met. Learnt about new shows.
Met a lot of cool people and probably annoyed many more in the process.
And most importantly of all, I get to preen and strut in front of a captive audience.
