What happened to Jennifer Lien?

But I don't like the only photograph contained in this thread to be the most depressing, even though it's the truth of Jennifer's present-day reality. So, I'm including this shot from Lien's "Glory Days," when she represented everything that a woman should be - very lovely, happy and social ...

I am so sad about the way her life has turned out. She was really good on Star trek Voyager. That's how I will remember her.

I believe there was a more recent thread somewhere where it was shown she got off with probation and required to undergo treatment.

This surprises me. I have just started watching VOYAGER from start to finish - and Kes is one of my favorite characters. I never really considered her a weak actress. . . . I didn't understand why her character would stay with Neelix, but otherwise, I liked her

I don't know who this Donny Winter person is, but this is just an example I found on The Internet of people who've been supportive of Jennifer Lien, from the standpoint of just being someone aware of her plight and not involved in the situation. Lien hadn't been well-served by the mental-health system she was ushered through and her mental insanity was just allowed to run amok, as she slipped through the cracks in the sense of not enough was done to actually help her get well. And I blame these quacks she was sent to for her flashing incident and other, lesser, episodes where she's acted out. The courts were forced to intervene finally, because of Jennifer's acting out and they -- correctly, in my view -- judged her innocent, due to insanity. She's not Stephen Collins who freely chose to do the sick shit he did, over and over again ... and then tried to cover it up with hush money. Lien was just whacked out and thrown to the wolves. Occasionally, I'll look up how she's doing online and can't find out anything that way. I just assume that no news is good news, in this instance. It breaks the heart to think of how all of her acting out could've been so easily avoided, that it needn't have happened, if only her treatment hadn't been administered by a bunch of quacks. Even so, many strangers have expressed sympathy and support of her and that kind of shite makes the Human Race seem like it's still got hope, to me. And from a VOY fan point of view, Jennifer Lien was very sweet, very beautiful on the show ... so its easy for my heart to go out to her, anyways.

Go re-watch Warlord, when actually given something to do her acting talent shined through.

Problem was the writers, not the actress.

Really, I think she was a valuable part of a show that gave pleasure and entertainment to many fans. I can only wish the best for her.

wow i don't even recognize her in the first post. Thats sad to see what became of her. Seemed like a sweet girl.
