What games are you playing currently?

Started Star Wars: Zero Company, an X-Com like team tactical strategy game obviously set in the Star Wars universe.

Over the years since X-Com 2 i have played many "clones" or games within that genre, some of them ok, some really good but i was always itching for X-Com 3 or something similar with high production values. It has now arrived and while i'm still very early in the game i love it so far. Gameplay is still unfolding as i'm unlocking all the options bit by bit but the characters are cool and i'm looking forward to play some more on the weekend.

I was close to killing something real when i missed 99% shots on the regular despite basically putting the muzzle on the head like in the picture and my soldier firing at some pigeons on the roof behind the alien that seemed like a larger threat apparently :lol::lol:

Zero Company seems to actually do better in that regard - i have missed 95% shots once or twice but also made 10% shots so it evens out i guess.

Started with Borderlands 2 again, currently playing Captain Scarlett and her Pirate's Booty, besides the gameplay and so I absolutely love the aesthetics of this DLC. :D

I thought she was such a great character, it was a shame they never brought her back. Unless they did in BL4, which I haven't played. Not heard great things about it though.

Borderlands 2 really was the best IMO, though I love the Pre-Sequel more than most seem to.

Has anyone played Tiny Tina's Wonderland? I have it and was enjoying it, but the piss poor performance and bugs on PS4 just made me give up in disgust and uninstall it. I imagine it runs much better on PS5 or PC.

Just finished playing 'Iron Nest'. Previous to that it was 'Derail Valley Simulator', as there was a train game/sim sale the other month, and damn that was fun to play. Never realised how much I liked trains. blah!

Yeah I do a lot of single player stuff. I don't have friends lol.

Just started 007 First Light and thst prologue was intense.

I got to the training area and am stuck in the first bit where you punch the bald guy when you get out of the jeep

Not really a game, but the Project Dream proof of concept just got posted on Archive.org. It's a sidescrolling Super Nintendo game from 1995 from Rare, which would have easily been the best looking Super Nintendo game ever. It looks like a PS1 game.

Several iterations and restarts and a move to the Nintendo 64 later, it was released as Banjo-Kazooie.

Star Trek: Elite Force 2. Which I had to buy on eBay again because I'd lost mine.

It's not quite as good as the first one, but still a really, really fun time.

Trek should have kept doing FPS games using this format forever. At least there's that insane Half-Life 2: Episode Three/The Closure where you get to kick Combine ass all over the NX-01 Enterprise... which is subbing for the Borealis and various Combine bases here because the author just plugged in a bunch of maps and models from an unfinished Enterprise mod:lol:

played shadowrun returns up until it softlocked me from completing a mission near endgame. i looked it up to see what i was doing wrong, and it was a known problem when it released, and it didn't get fixed when they did a remaaster either. so i uninstalled it. feel petty but.

played sherlock holmes and the silver earring, frogware's second holmes game. bounced between enjoying myself and being incredibly frustrated. not only regular point n click frustrations, but also you do have to actually review your notes and apparently my brain is bad. plus some clues just being wrong... gonna blame some of this on translation...

started Star Trek Voyager: Elite Force (i played it on ps2 years ago, and still possess that, but have had the pc version in my gog library for a while). mostly did the virtual voyager bits and the opening training mission so far.

started shadowrun dragonfall and failed the first mission...

I'm a flight simmer. So there are times where I will immerse myself in MSFS2024...The Career Mode is pretty engaging but there are periodic bugs that break your flight and therefore affect your career path.

for anyone not familiar with the structure...you start an aviation company after you earn certain certifications: Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot, IFR rating, Helicopter, ATP rating, Jet Training etc.. and so on...Then you start a company and buy aircraft and sell charter flights..all the while flying for other companies as a pilot for hire to earn income...

There are basically three metrics that affect your pilot rating:

1. Passenger Satisfaction
2. Following Airline/ATC procedure
3. Respecting the condition of the Aircraft

You have to score at least 90% ( i think) to earn cash and boost your reputation rating...the higher this value is, the more flights become available to you...if your reputation rating starts to tank, you will lose out on potential flight opportunities....

This is where the bugs can affect you...on occasion you will be flying at altitude, auto pilot engaged, everything is perfect..and suddenly the autopilot shuts down, the Throttles don't respond..next thing you know you are stalled out and nosediving to a crash...problem is that the software doesn't realize that a bug happened and things that you crashed the plane because of pilot error...so your reputation tanks...

This is infuriating as it takes a while to build a solid reputation and it can be undone in one flight....by a bug...
