What games are you playing currently?

^^^I can understand you on that TOTK game, i mean BOTW is stunning, i have enjoyed it totally, BUT!, once i finish it i doubt i will want to look at this world again for a long long time, too much of a good thing and all. lol

I loved BOTW. Granted, I didn't do all (most), or even a fraction of the Korok seeds or side missions, but I did all the shrines, the Divine Beasts, and I beat Calamity Ganon. I think I finished it in 2017 with over 120 hours in. I really want to start ToTK, but my problem is Jedi Survivor. So far, it's a great game, I just don't want to play it for some reason.

Then, I don't want to start ToTK without finishing Jedi Survivor. It's weird. I have a thing in my brain where I don't want to start something without finishing something else. I'm probably just going to have to start Zelda and come back to Survivor later. I guess I'm afraid once I get used to Zelda's controls again, I'll forget Jedi's controls... but, I've not played Jedi in so long, I've already forgotten the controls (if that makes any sense  )

It also doesn't help I've been watching footage of FF XVI, whose combat looks pretty similar to God of War's. I kinda want to try it, but I tried FF XV and ended up quitting about 5 hours in (around the time you get the room at the motel and get side missions at the diner).

I finished Bioshock 2 a couple of days ago. Since then I've been playing Trek To Yomi.

I was playing that until I got to the first puzzle. Have you been able to solve them without looking at a guide? I'm genuinely curious if it's possible for non-Japanese readers to solve them without taking elaborate steps.

As for the game.... it's exactly why those subs are pretty cool to have. I don't think I'd have purchased a game entirely in Japanese and in that 2.5D style but since it was one of the monthly games I tried it and found myself playing right on through until I hit the first puzzle. I very much enjoyed what I've played and intend to go back to it at some point.

Such a hurtful thing to say

Not to mention inaccurate. :D

In all seriousness, I think the truth is that there aren't a ton of really great games. There are a metric ton of games but very few great ones. And depending on the genre you prefer, it can be even rarer. I think that's why I've played Fallout3, NV, 4, Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Witcher 3 (and to a lesser degree 1 and 2) and Red Dead Redemption a bajillion times. And why I end up searching for something interesting but all too often come up empty. I had thought I'd be able to get into dark souls after beating Elden Ring twice but I found the older games too linear to also be that annoying and clunky. The Demon's Souls remake looks like it might be one I can get into though. But every time I search for something new based on things I might like it's the same damn list of suggestions of games that I've already played.

I can't wait for Starfield to finally get here. Initially, because I saw it as an obstacle to get past to get to the next Elder Scrolls game but it actually looks great. And despite Cyberpunk's rough launch I'm looking forward to the DLC. Right now though, I'm looking for games to play while I wait.

Final Fantasy XVI. It’s a lot more linear than I expected and there is a lot of cutscenes but I am enjoying it so far. Your mother is a right ####. :)

You mean the puzzle where you have to rotate the symbols? Yeah I got that in like 30 seconds. There are three glowing symbols in the scene and you just have to find them on the three moving dials.

As for the game itself, I liked it, but I also thought it got quite repetitive pretty quickly. I didn't find the combat all that great and the story kinda drags in the second half.

Well funny enough i thought i had done a ton of stuff in the game to the point that i decided it was time to take out the 4 beasts, as i had enough hearts to get that sword thing, and once i had all 4 i then headed to the castle for the boss thing, and once it was beaten it tells you on the map how much you have done, and it says 24%.........and here i thought i was in the 80% area,,,,,but now that i have done it i won't be back, it was good and all, while it lasted, but the game starts to get really repetitive once you have the whole map open, and whereas when you first start the game the world looks amazing, but you actually get tired of looking at that cell shaded world at some point, which seems to just creeps up on you at some point.

Now i will just wait for Starfield and Forza MS. :)

Yeah, I went back last night and finished Yomi. Once I got the first one (I couldn't see it on my screen) the rest were super simple. The combat in that game was really timing and distance (how far your character was from the opponent) based and sometimes hard because you couldn't really see what was happening. Once I figured out that the "up + light attack" took care of most things it was pretty simple.

It was a nice little change of pace. I played it in Japanese w/English subtitles rather than English (I don't know if that made a difference) but I enjoyed it.

Yeah I also played it in Japanese with English subs. I didn't even know there was an English dub. :D

TBH, I didn't either until I saw the credits list an English Cast after the Japanese Cast. I am kinda glad that I didn't know it was an option because I think that gave a unique experience and the subtitles were so small and difficult to read at times that I might've switched to English had I known.

I've recently bought Forza Horizon 5 mainly because as a DLC you can drive Hot Wheels around a Hot Wheels track - when i saw this i laughed and knew i had to get this game at some point and now it was 50% off on Steam so i took the plunge.

The game has an insane amount of different racing styles to unlock including cars - i am totally lost how this all works, it is information overload but i love it ( and i haven't even tried to fine tune cars or go into pro mode)

Currently playing Mass Effect 3, Persona 5 Royal and Final Fantasy XVI. Waiting for Trails into Reverie to add that.

Final Fantasy XVI is interesting. Best combat Final Fantasy has had in a long time, by far the best it's ever done with action based combat. Story I'm not impressed, because it's like they took a generic RPG template and made it MA rated then tried to get credit just for being MA rated. But, also best Final Fantasy has done for a while just by virtue of being coherent.

It’s a very soft MA rating though. Just the occasional naughty word. The violence is rather inoffensive and there is no boobies to speak of.

Playing Boltgun at the moment, really fun, really oldskool, just right to take your mind of things and just shoot the hell out of whatever is in your way..:D:devil::techman:

Can you drive it using a gamepad/controller? I've been wanting a racing game but it seems like half of them are as hard to drive using a regular controller as the old NES/Atari game Pole Position, only your car doesn't explode if it touches the line. I'm not interested in online competitions or going through seasons - just want it to be decent as a single player or 2 player racing game and if it has the other stuff that's great.

The codemasters racing games are good single player games...

Yes you can, i'm playing it with my Elite 2.

It's a blast and there's tons of stuff to do and unlock without even starting with DLCs, though i did get the Hot Wheels DLC immediately due to nostalgia reasons and because it's just so cool to drive through loops or at a 90 degree angle :techman:
