What games are you playing currently?

Is there any difference besides appearance in the mounts in Assassin's Creed: Origins? Have been able to find any kind of stats or anything for any of them.
I decided to start a Ghostbuster rewatch/replay before I started the comics, so I watched first movie yesterday, and later on decided to start the game too, even though I haven't watched the second movie yet.

I honestly don't remember, but if it's anything like Odyssey, the mounts in it were purely cosmetic.

I've been toying with doing a Ghostbusters replay. I really enjoyed it the first time around and wouldn't mind playing it remastered on PS4 (especially coming off a rewatch of Ghost Busters and Ghostbusters II)

I beat Ghost of Tsushima a few days ago and I just got he platinum trophy.
I think I'm gonna play something else before going back to The Last Of Us 2 for the platinum trophy.

OK good to know. One very minor thing that is kind of annoying me, I keep seeing all of these really cool looking horses standing around, or being ridden around by bad guys or NPCs, but then all the ones to buy at the stable are kind of boring looking.

Revisiting Outcast. Last month I bought Outcast: Second Contact, a remake of the original 1999 game, and it's hitting me in the feels. Pure nostalgia for me, as I remember fondly watching my brother play it when it was originall released. The original game was a low-res voxel-based engine with a maximum of 512x384, and was still an amazing accomplishment for its time. This remake bumps it up to modern resolutions and fully upgrades the visuals, and it looks amazing. They've really done a great job with this remake.

Saw a comparison video on it the other day. Unsurprisingly the framerate on PC is miles better.

That is because the frame rates are locked at 30fps on PS4.. On PC they will be unlocked.

Now how bloody hard is it to coordinate timezones the release date is 7 August, it's 7 August in Australia yet tomorrow we get the game in Australia. Why couldn't they automate the unlock so everyone gets it on the same date?

OK so far so good with HZD..... Very nice looking game and despite an error message at startup the game actually runs despite it.

I don't know why it even bothered when the game is playing fine.

I was still in the mood for a LEGO game after my mom and I decided we were done with The Incredibles, so I started up a replay of LEGO Lord of the Rings. LOTR was actually one of my least favorite LEGO games when we first played it, but I thought I'd give it another try and see if my opinion of it is different now. I'm really enjoying it so far, so it looks it might be.

FWIW, regarding Horizon Zero Dawn on PC, it seems many people are experiencing performance problems.

Not all PC hardware is the same and so many people have different components and builds of course there will be issues. Consoles have the same hardware set to it's easier to make a program that runs well for everyone.

The funny thing is that two people on identical hardware on a PC might experience different results.

Yeah, I think that goes without saying. It's to be expected these days. But it seems many issues are being had even on some of the best hardware currently available, and the devs are aware of the issues. It seems like it might need tweaks as it doesn't run quite as well as Death Stranding running on the same engine and hardware.

How's it looking on your end?

So far touch wood no crashes. But I'm yet to do the Proving as I'm just dicking around and wandering around the world. Supposedly a lot of the game crashing happens after that, so time will tell.

On the PS4 the frame rate is locked to 30fps but you know what I never would have known that had it not been mentioned in many places, it looks smooth on my TV and plays smooth so why do people get so hung up about frame rates?

Yeah, I dunno. I think people automatically expect higher framerates on PC, but like you say, on PS4 30fps seems completely fine. It seems like people are having issues when opening the game up to running beyond 30fps, say 60fps, so it seems like maybe the game isn't very well optimized on PC yet, but may be fixed via patches. The other thing is, there are more settings on a PC version versus PS4 which may impact things.
