Playing some Stardew Valley. Might play some Smash in a bit. Just moved everything (minus the saves) over to the new SD card.

Well, I meant more of an ongoing thing. I know about the tie in material, but that all came out directly tying into specific games. I'm talking about a franchise like Star Wars or Star Trek, where material is made regardless of whether or not there is something specific to tie it in to. Well, ok Sytar Wars barrely does that anymore either, but the point stands. Mass Effect deserves to have movies, TV shows, books, comics, etc. even when there isn't a game to promote, because the universe has the potential to support all that. It will never have it, and probably won't even have another game because EA and Bioware are ran by greedy morons, but the universe is good enough to deserve it.
Anyway, onto a new game I'm playing, I just started Remember Me, a cyberpunk game about a world where memories can be uploaded, downloaded, deleted, etc by technology that everyone seems to have impl;anted in them. You play as part of a group of people who are trying to stop the sinister company that controls this tech, specifically a woman who is the only person able to not just add o0r delete memories, but can actually change them, basically making people do what you want by manipulating what they remember. Your character was caught and got her memory 99% wiped, only remembering her name and her skills mostly working by the brain equivalent of "muscle memory", and you're on a mission to defeat the evil corporation and get your memories back.
The game plays like a less polished Batman: Arkham series game when it comes to combat, which is fine. There is also platforming that reminds me of Uncharted or Assassin's Creed, but (again) less polished then those games. The story is very interesting so far, the game looks pretty good, andthe big gimmick of the game (going into peoples memories to change them) is interesting and fun, although reviews I've read say that you don't get to do the memory manipulation thing nearly enough.
The game was made by Dontnod, who are probably most well know for the Life is Strange series but also have a bit of a history of interesting "mid-tier" games, the type of stuff we got a lot in the last two console generations but don't get much anymore since most games nowadays are either AAA games or indy games. I played their last action/adventure game (Vampyr) on PS4 and enjoyed it, so I picked this game up for cheap (I think it was only $3 at Gamestop), and I'm enjoying it so far. I do really miss when we'd get a lot of mid-tier games, something that is higher budget and more impressive then indy games but isn't a ridiculously budgeted and super corporate AAA experience (not that those can't be fun, but sometimes you want a game that can go a bit "out there"), and this is a good example of a game like that.
how old is Remember Me, just curious I need something new.
ME 3 has one of the worst endings, only choices are bad, bad, terrible.
I have played ME 1 3 times, ME2 now for the second time, but ME 3 only once because the ending is so terrible.
And they have such a rich universe there should be movies and more novels coming out
OK the download finished earlier today and I played a bit of Remember Me, it's a different kind of game but so far I have enjoyed it. I would have loved the maps to be a bit more open though and give you freedom to explore. But hey on the whole it's fun, not bad for a game from 2013.
My video game habits are way too regular. Back to playing Crusader Kings 2. I'm building a druidic dynasty taking over as much as it can, starting from Ulster starting in 769AD. So far I have little sleep, conquered most if Ireland, Iceland, Faeroe, bits of Wales and amazingly Wessex when their king became a heretic and had no allies to save him from me.

I threw everything I had into getting ship building and a cassus belli on east Iceland. I've played early campaigns too much and seems like an inordinate amount of Viking raids happen from Iceland. plan was to get iceland and faeroe out of play as fast as i could to avoid some of the onslaught from them, as Ireland is tribal and those areas are almost defenseless until you convert to medieval. It's also a decent place to dump extra sons so they aren't landless but never get enough power to make a successful challenge if you're doing the whole Gavelkind civil-war-every-time-your-monarch-dies thing.
That's one cool feature of playing Christian in europe during the pagan era. If you have grumbling kin to get rid of, make them the religious head on your council and send them away to Scandinavia to convert the locals. The less good at it they are, the better. They almost always get killed and you take no blame for it as those "known murderer" and "kinslayer" stick with you for decades, realistically usually until you croak. I call it the Pagan Relative Disposal System.
I'm thinking about going back to The Witcher 3. I really did enjoy it before, I had just kind of burned out because I had been at it for a long time, but now I'm finding myself in a fantasy mood again, and I'm curious to see where the story went after I stopped playing.
