The wife got me Prey (XBONE) and Horizon: Zero Dawn (PS4 obviously) for my birthday, looking forward to checking out both when the occasion arrises.

Moved onto UC3 on the PS4 Drake Collection and I don't know if Bluepoint made a mess of the port or my memory forgot how dodgy this game is after you literally just finished with UC2. The aiming system is so stiff, Nate feels like he's put on about 40 pounds of extra weight at time and the AI have ZERO response to being shot, they just carry on moving to you. Easily the most sponged like enemies of the 4 games and the fact they don't flinch when shot makes that sponge effect more tiresome. Before I played the collection, I think I scored the games from the PS3 era like this...

UC: 8.0
UC2: 9.0
UC3: 8.5

I think I was too kind towards UC3.

Oooh........

I wonder if you could make a ship like Lucy from Killjoys?
I'm not sure. You can see what kinds of ships are available in-game here: https://roguey.co.uk/elite-dangerous/ships/

I just bought and outfit this one today. Meet the Python class IMC Friendship: :D

She carries 128 tons of cargo, and 22 passengers. She has first class cabins, an SRV bay (an all terrain vehicle for landing on surfaces, like moons and such), and many other amenities. ♥

Yeah I'm seriously debating purchase of this.

is it online multiplayer or singleplayer?

It is both. There is open play, where you get to interact with other players, including PvP, and Solo play, where you are in more of a PvE environment.

Oh..........

PvE is more my thing I don't do mmos or stuff much if I can avoid it.

The only mmos I have tried so far are Defiance which has more or less died now, and Skyforge which was tons of fun in the beginning but the later maps and bad levelling on some quests make progress way too hard IMHO.

I left that game having never finished the "Mysterious Messenger" part of the main story. There was one part there that feels all but impossible for me to pass.

Then you would like Elite Dangerous. In Solo play, it's just like single player, no other real life players interact with you. All NPCs.

I might just do that. How big is the download and is it on steam?

Would my system be OK with this

AMD FX6300
16gig DDR3 Ram
MSI 970 mobo
Radeon R9 380 4gig

Oh most certainly, that will run the game. It is on Steam (that's how I bought it). The size, for me, was around 9 GB. I also have the Horizons expansion installed, which lets you land on planets.

Whaaaaaaaaaaat?

You can't land with the plain vanilla game?
No. You can dock at any of the hundreds of stations, and outposts, but you can't land on any planets, or moons. You have to buy the "Horizons" expansion to do that. You also need the "Commanders" expansion if you want to customize your character, the "Holo-Me" that will be you as you fly the ship.

Now, before you get discouraged, you can buy the whole thing for $60. That's every expansion, and a 1 year season pass for future expansions (so if they come out with another expansion before that one year season pass expires, you get it free). It's worth every penny, IMO.

Prey (XBONE) - amazing opening hour(s).

Also, the wife and I have been checking out the Rise of the Necromancer expansion for Diablo 3. It's the Necro, y'all.

UC3 completed, now with the trilogy out of the way though I do want to play UC2 again (for the trophies) at some-point since I did it on a different account after I thought I had loss my PSN (cheers for that Sony). Do I replay UC4 or move onto something else? hmmm

Finished The Witcher 3! Such an amazing game :)

I put Horizon: Zero Dawn back on the shelf after 8 hours or so. It was starting to feel very state and repetitive.

I'm still banging away at Stellaris. Heckin love it, but I'm still not sure if I'm playing it properly - I often feel like I'm sitting around not doing very much?

I've just - finally - started Shadow of Mordor. Liking it so far :)

If you haven't already, I'd recommend you play on the hardest difficultly for the most rewarding experience. By about halfway through the game you tend to get so powerful that you'll rarely (if ever!) be defeated in combat and as a result, won't get the most out of the nemesis system, which is the game's real selling point.

Uncharted: Drake Collection on PS4. I completed Drakes Fortune last weekend but am stuck :brickwall: on the end boss on Among Thieves so I put it down before I decided to give my PS4 an early grave :borg:

Uncharted may be a great series but all 4 of them have HORRIBLE :censored: end bosses. Infact end game bosses are a terrible cliche that 50% of games don't need. Make a epic last chapter sure but we don't need 1 over the top boss in all games at the very end. Naughty Dog discovered this when making The Last of Us but it's a pity their other games have not discovered this.
Because the Narrative of the Uncharted games pretty much force that end boss battle...
And The Last Of Us is very different, from a story and thus games style perspective...

I've actually been sensing that it would go like that.

I can't see a way to change the difficulty though?

For some reason I was sure there was a difficulty setting, but after a quick google apparently not.
I think you can turn off the prompts for counters and combos. That should make things suitably challenging early on. You can also simply refrain from taking certain powerful upgrades, though I appreciate that's hardly and optimal solution. Gaming the nemesis system to produce especially nasty ork chiefs is also a possibility, though a little masochistic from a roleplaying perspective.
