What games are you playing currently?

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare...it's pretty fun and funny. It's a third person shooter/tower defense game with some mild RPG elements in it. A 3D version of the 2D Plants vs Zombies and Plants vs Zombies 2: It's About Time. In mutiplayer, you can play as the plants or the zombies. Likely a good, light hearted alternative if you don't want your kids playing M (Mature) rated titles like Call of Duty, Halo, or Battlefield.

I started playing Apollo Justice. It's a good game, but I miss Phoenix, Gumshoe, and Edgeworth. It barely feels like an Ace Attorney game.

I'm trying to think of a way to gently introduce him to the concept of DLC. Oh, and Microtransactions/IAP.

I was a staunch GOG man before I caved and checked out Steam. The unfortunate truth is that a lot of the "grand" old games haven't aged well. :( I keep trying to motivate myself to play through that first mission of Deus Ex, for instance... just isn't happening.

As for microtransactions and ostensibly "free to play" games, yeah, no thanks. ;)

DLC's witchy call is already loud in my eardrums, though. It whispers "Dragonfall. You know you want it." And I'm all like, "No, I am strong!"

But I am not strong.

There's some pretty good UGC for Shadowrun: Returns, though. At least the first one I tried out, "Nightmare Harvest," satisfied.

Heresy! Deus Ex holds up very well I thought (replayed it a few years back). What put you off, the graphics?

Been given the GalCivs 3 beta a whirl this week. Quite pleased with how it's all going.

Also managed to get back into a little bit of Space Engineers on the weekend with a friend. Gravity is not my friend in that game and I had a crater that just had my bodies at the bottom of it due to me stepping off an edge and falling to my death because I got too used to my jetpack turning itself on.

"What a shame." ;)

Deus Ex is still a great game, maybe better than some of today's games.

Also try Planescape: Torment if you want a good and interesting adventure RPG with an engaging story.

As for me, still ticking away with the Elite: Dangerous beta. It's coming along well so far, despite the rough edges and missing features, and my combat skills have improved a lot. :D

The gameplay, the AI, the fact that your alleged super-agent is so fragile and shitty at things...

I guess I'm kind of just not a FPS person, which probably explains some things. But I'll try again, I promise. I haven't uninstalled it.

It's not really a twitch FPS, but once your character grows you can craft the gameplay style into something more akin to a FPS style shooter. Or you can play it as a stealth-em-up, with no (well, few) casualties. I guess in-universe you could consider that your character is ready but unspecialised.

But yeah, the AI is of its time. And if you can forgive the voice acting in the second major section of the game, it's still an enjoyable experience.
