Re: DVD burn
As for the -M designation, some "one megabyte should be enough for anyone" bureaucrat probably thought that -M was so far off from -B that they'd never really need it. So by the time they blow up the 1701-L (F - L all go within WEEKS of each other. Starfleet command is amazed!) they'll have to designate the next ship the 1701-Mmmmmmmmm.
Brilliant! Why thanks so much!Crewman47 said:
Just watched the first part there and I thought it was brilliant.

One other thing, not sure if we're allowed to nitpick already but when Charlie went through the Guardian shouldn't Harriman, Uhura and Checkov have stayed on the Planet as the planet is shielded against changes in the timeline instead of being integrated (I assume that's what happened to them) into there present alternate selves? I thought that was established when McCoy accidentley changed the timeeline back in the episode City on the Edge of Forever.
As has been mentioned, Charlie was "running" the Guardian, so things worked a little differently. Different circumstances, different "rules". As you might have caught, Harriman and Uhura both have kind of an "alternate reality hangover". Wonder what THAT will lead to? Hrmmmm...AJBryant said:
Yeah, I agree. That "small detail" frankly ruins the whole thing for me, as it totally changes the previously established "rules" for the thing.
Damn. I really wanted to like this, but such a basic ignorance of canon is a major annoyance.
The 1701-B is not only still around, but it's one of the first shots of the movie. It's the ship that drops Harriman off at the 1701-M. And then promptly gets called to rescue orphans (along with all of the ships that AREN'T the museum). Hungry, cute orphans. (That's my story, and I stick to it like a tiberian bat.)Crewman47 said:
Also why was the new Constitution Class Enterprise (in the oriinal timeline) designated as the Enterprise-M when, if it's only 2306, the Enterprise-B should still be around?
