What Doctor Who episode is this?

Can anyone tell me in which early Doctor Who episode a female companion (possibly Victoria or Dodo) arrived at a space colony well in the future with a cold? If I remember correctly the common cold had been eradicated and the colonists had no immunity to it.

I think the episode was called The Ark iirc. It was a Hartnell episode and Dodo had the cold.

Yup, beat me to it. It was indeed The Ark with Dodo's cold. An interesting premise but poorly executed in my mind.

It seems that you are indeed correct.

Looking at Wikipedia I notice that all four episodes still exist. I hope they bring it out on DVD. I remember liking this episode very much as a child.

EDITED TO ADD:

If this is so, than maybe I shouldn't ever watch it again. Maybe the childhood memory of how great it was shouldn't be spoiled.

At least my memories of the "Fury from the Deep" and "The Highlanders" will never be spoiled.

Well, you never know. I personally love The Invasion of Time and a large part of that is because of my fond memories of it as a kid, but I know many people (especially around here) hate it. You mileage may vary.

Plus, I am a bit weird when it comes to The First Doctor stories. I don't like any of the Dalek stories, but I love The Web Planet.

Don't feel bad, Emh. I don't like any of the Dalek stories except the first one. I too like The Web Planet.

Well, Russell T Davies once said that The Web Planet is one of his favourites, so liking it isn't as far out as I thought.
I prefer the later Hartnell Falek stories to the first one, which was a bit too slow paced to me. Also, the fight choreographies grew less awkward as time went on. I think my favourite is The Chase.

Heh. To be honest, the only Dalek story I truly enjoy watching is Eccleston's Dalek...and I've been watching since 1978!

The Daleks are boring-boring-boring to me. Always have been. I realize they're a cultural statement for the Brits that connects back to WWII and all that. But, for myself (American) they've always been just.......meh. I'll take the Cybermen any day of the week.

And I L-O-V-E Invasion of Time! Does it run a bit too long? Yes. Would I love to go back in time and give the departments one of my meager paychecks to help take away The Blow-Up Chairs and Gaudy Plastic of Rassilon? You betcha. But, the trip through the TARDIS makes it all worthwhile. Always agreed with Tom's stance that you can film the interior of the TARDIS anywhere, since it is it's own world inside there... :techman:

Well, that's an awesome episode to be sure. Since I only started watching Doctor Who with the new series, it's my first Dalek story. I was really impressed by it, also by the difference to Trek because at the end the Dalek prefers destroying itself to becoming human.
