What Do You Want...

But is seems too far out of reach?

1. Financial Security(I am currently unemployed, for a year now and can't seem to get anyone to hire me. :( )

2. A Home Of My Own. (I currently live with family in our grandparents house that is falling apart and there is no money to fix it...to be honest it is a nightmare...I would love to buy some land near by and build a modest house that I have found plans for...but I will keep dreaming.)

3. Get Married And Have Children. (Many things would have to change financially and physically for this to happen. :sigh: )

That is pretty much it at the moment.

Holy Crap, yours match mine exactly, with a little tweak

1.) Financial Security - I am employeed, but I have a LOT of debt and owe back taxes to the IRS, so I'm paying out my butt right now and have no extra money and trying to get this debt paid, but its a very slow slow slow process as I can only pay so much a month to all my credit cards and government, so right now I have this nightmare hanging over my shoulder, if I could just get out of debt and start SAVING money, I'll be a lot better.

2.) A Home Of My Own - I live in my own apartment, but I've only been living the apartment life for the last 10 years, I'm 30 now and seriously wanting a HOUSE, but first I figure out where the crap I want to live! I have many options open to me, but have idea the actual physical geographic location I want to "settle down."

3.) Get Married And Have Children - I too want a relationship, someone that loves me and that I can love back, eventually a family, but heck, first off I just want a companion and be able to go do things with, travel etc...

4.) My weight - I'll add one, I am fat, simply put, I need to lose at least 60 pounds, and it is a constant struggle, food is a comfort for me, with all the other things going on I think I use food as a mechanism, but man, I gotta lose this weight!

Oh I know two more things:

--> To lose some inhibitions, that annoy me, in certain situation.

--> To drive a car (though I think that borders more on impossible for me)

TerokNor

P.S. So many people here who would love to have kids. If we don´t find partners to marry and have kids with we should set each other up with each other. ;)

1. To have a house in the country on a few acres of land, with lots of bookshelves and a few cats.

2. To be able to live off my writing and art, and not have to work at all.

Money mainly. What I really need is time, but I spend most of my time making money. If I had the money, the time would make itself. Wait, wasn't that a pop song in the 70s? :vulcan:

A house :)

Marriage is less than nine months away, and kids are probably within three years hopefully.

Oh, and I miss having enough in my account to spend over $500 lesiurely without denting my bank balance like it was back when I still had my old career.

I think I'm either lucky, or happy, or very unimaginative because I can't think of anything.

I mean, control over my lifespan, infinite cash, pure fantasy stuff like that... well, sure, obviously. But in terms of what's practically available, I can't actually think of much at all right now that I would want that feels truly out of reach.

I think this means I will suffer from aristocratic ennui and begin betting on raindrops running down windows soon...

I want a brand new house
On an episode of Cribs
And a bathroom I can play baseball in
And a king size tub big enough
For ten plus me

(So what you need?)

I'll need a credit card that's got no limit
And a big black jet with a bedroom in it
Gonna join the mile high club
At thirty-seven thousand feet

(Been there, done that)

I want a new tour bus full of old guitars
My own star on Hollywood Boulevard
Somewhere between Cher and
James Dean is fine for me

(So how you gonna do it?)

I'm gonna trade this life for fortune and fame
I'd even cut my hair and change my name

[Chorus:]
'Cause we all just wanna be big rockstars
And live in hilltop houses driving fifteen cars
The girls come easy and the drugs come cheap
We'll all stay skinny 'cause we just won't eat
And we'll hang out in the coolest bars
In the VIP with the movie stars
Every good gold digger's
Gonna wind up there
Every Playboy bunny
With her bleach blond hair

Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar
Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar

I wanna be great like Elvis without the tassels
Hire eight body guards that love to beat up assholes
Sign a couple autographs
So I can eat my meals for free
(I'll have the quesadilla on the house)
I'm gonna dress my ass
With the latest fashion
Get a front door key to the Playboy mansion
Gonna date a centerfold that loves to
Blow my money for me
(So how you gonna do it?)
I'm gonna trade this life for fortune and fame
I'd even cut my hair and change my name

[Chorus]

And we'll hide out in the private rooms
With the latest dictionary and today's who's who
They'll get you anything with that evil smile
Everybody's got a drug dealer on speed dial, well

Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar

I'm gonna sing those songs
That offend the censors
Gonna pop my pills from a pez dispenser

I'll get washed-up singers writing all my songs
lip sync 'em every night so I don't get 'em wrong

[Chorus]

And we'll hide out in the private rooms
With the latest dictionary and today's who's who
They'll get you anything with that evil smile
Everybody's got a drug dealer on speed dial

Hey hey I wanna be a rockstar
Hey hey I wanna be a ro

Why, though? Millions of people drive. Most of them don't kill people. Why do you think you would do so?

Driving can be scary...I didn't get my license until I was 21...mainly because I had no choice...I needed a way back and fourth to work and walking wasn't even an option...within a week I was driving...if you just get behind the wheel with someone who you can trust...go to a place where minimal damage can happen like an empty parking lot...get use to handling the vehicle and then take small steps to other things like turning and parking...read a manual thoroughly. It may take time and practice but you can do it! :bolian:

[edit] The thought of driving a car scared the hell out of me...but once I did it...all my fears were gone. Within my first month of driving I drove 400+ miles to my cousins house at the beach...alone.

Some people are scared of driving, but I've never understood why. I've been driving since I turned 16 (well, 15 when I had my learners permit), and nothing about it was ever remotely intimidating for me. I drove around in a parking lot to get used to the car, and then I was out and about and driving on the highway. Nothing difficult about it.

It really isn't difficult but having a mental block is the hard thing to overcome...driving is a breeze...I had never driven before and within a month it was like second nature.
