What Do You Want To See In The Next Film?

TRON JA307020

Vice Admiral

Storywise. Since Simon is a new writer and a fan I am hoping he will take us away from earth and maybe they can do a bit of exploring. If they need to redo a classic episode I would like to see Where No Man Has Gone Before done. The reason is they could show Gary getting the powers after they have explored a unknown region of space but I would like to see the powers expanded. Basically I would like to see Gary cause devastation on a planet wide scale. Maybe even destroying a entire world. The enterprise crew would have to find a way to stop him. Any other ideas?

Cerebral science fiction. Cosmic, mind-bending themes.
Profound new ideas that make you scratch your head (in a good way).

It sounds like we may get that from Pegg. I admit I want a more substantial story with some cosmic theme or universe shattering theme. Also I would like to see the enterprise kick a bit of ass in this one.

Cerebral is good, but that belongs more on a tv series rather than a two hour event that most folks pay large bucks to see on the big screen. (personal opinion only)

That said:
I would like to see them get back to some aspect of exploration for a bit of the story. But, if they get Idris Elba to play a Klingon commander bad guy, then I want to see the new D-7 or K't'inga class battlecruiser vs the new Enterprise in a confrontation that I have waited years to see.

If the third movie is another full on action romp, then I hope it will have as good a story as the first two films. :)

This. I want this.

Five year mission.

I'm sure they'll be able to squeeze that into a quick pre-credit scene before the crew go back to Earth for some R&R as they talk about how interesting that five-year mission was....

Oh, wait. Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman and Damon Lindelof aren't the writers! There's a chance!

Much rather see a good fist fight than a ship to ship battle.

Maybe a big fight with all the principal Starfleet officers fighting the movie's evil bunch.

I also prefer more diplomacy and less the Federation is doomed action.
Yes, can we completely get away from Earth/Federation being in danger?

:)

More Bones & Spock arguements...Kirk knocking up Carol Marcus...more GATT5000...some mention of Spock Prime...the saucer section of the Enterprise detaching....and a Shatner cameo.

Most Trek films have had Earth as a destination or starting point. Insurrection is the only one that comes to mind that didn't. So on second thought, maybe Earth ain't so bad after all. ;)

As much as I don't mind a good set-to (I've enjoyed the fights in the movies), I think there's been more than enough of that in the two films so far. I want to see some proper Enterprise action, I can watch a fist fight in any number of films, there's only Star Trek where I can see my favourite ship kick some ass.
