What do you want to see in Star Trek 4?

I don't understand how each Star Wars films can show empires at war, massive starship battles and quieter character moments; but for roughly the same budget; nu-Star Trek can only recycle the one ship vs one bad guy story.

You think they are screaming about JJ Abrams and how he turned Trek into Star Wars now...

I think Star Trek is a tougher nut to crack. Pretty much everything is anti-hero stuff nowadays and Star Trek is about the military as the heroes. People are just more into anti-heroes.

But almost every single big budget film is some super hero franchise. Which I'm getting tired of BTW.

If they use time travel to restore the timeline in spite of the reboot using quantum realities I'm gonna throwing popcorn at the screen.

I'd like a friend to foe kind of villain, a woman especially.

I'd like some development of Spock/Uhura without them fighting or breaking up.

The 'drama' in beyond made sense (and so did stid for me) in a way it was like the logical sequel to st09, something Spock would question at one point..but yeah, it would be refreshing for once to see how a couple makes it work on a spaceship and them being just happy and simply face the drama with the villain. Beyond already kind of treated their relationship as a natural integral part of the enterprise family and I'd like more of that simplicity (Kirk allowing Spock to participate to the rescue mission when he says Uhura is there and no one questions that. Sulu instantly understanding that Spock was looking for her telling him where she is .. bones teasing Spock for his gift lol ...all the little things )
'Bromances' are considered as a given, yet a couple must always be in peril.

Startrek4? I want to see enterprise battling the klingon k'tinga. I always want to see how good the enterprise is. We know she is federation's best star ship, but until now, enterprise is always outpowered, outclassed, even totalled in the last movie. It's due to her unfortunate event. Becoz of that despite enterprise gain the highest prestigue among the federation crew, her crew's cassualities is very high.

I'd actually like there to be no space battles. Not because I'm opposed but because not every story needs them and it's not like there haven't been any already.

Kirk and Spock becoming enemies (for the duration of the movie) because of some tricky situation involving really nasty aliens, the nastier we've ever seen.

They practically were enemies in Trek XI and "Frenemies" in STID, and honestly, it added nothing to either movie.

Do you think that's possible in a Hollywood movie?

I'm with you, but it sounds like Paramount sees this film franchise as their Star Wars. Big budget movies these days have to fit a certain formula: Big action, big effects. Imagine what would happen if someone tried to make The Voyage Home with today's mentality?
