What do you want to see in a 3rd "SG-1" movie?

The Borgified Corpse

Admiral
Admiral
Now that "The Ark of Truth" & "Continuum" are out, what sorts of stuff do you want to see in the next SG-1 movie?

Personally, I want to see more Vala. She's just about the only character that hasn't been completely run into the ground.

Secondly, I want to see more Jack O'Neill. He's 5 times more interesting than Col. Mitchell any day.

What about you folks? Any particular directions you want them to go in for the next direct-to-video movie?

He's talking about the straight to DVD SG-1 movies, not the original Stargate movie.

There have been two so far, Ark of Truth and Continuum.

I'm hoping the third will bookend Jack's story before RDA gets too old.

- Jack. But not the bumbling, constantly sarcastic, awkward oaf of a character he's been since season 8. PROPER Jack O'Neill.
- No Mitchell. He's just crap.
- No replicators/ancients/ascension
- Someone other than the moron (M & M) twins writing or having anything to do with it
- Something to finally end the SG-1 series, on a good, returning to basics good old fashioned adventure-type Stargate-related SG1 storyline.

After painfully sitting through Ark of Truth and Continuum being godawful, I just hope it's third time lucky. And let the third be the last.

I'm hoping the next one will definately feature more of the Daniel/Vala thing. Although honestly I would hope that the Carter/Jack story would get wrapped up. And maybe... y'know deal with the death of ol' General Hammond. Maybe an attack by some other new enemy and Jack has to re-assemble SG1

Depends, if they are going to make more, or if it will be the last one.

If its the last one, take on the revelation of the gate to the public, and do it well.

If it isn't the last one, then how about a movie that ties up some storylines from the series that were never answered, like the fate of the Tolan, the Retu, the Tokra, the Nox, the people from 2010, etc..... tie up some loose ends

No to Stargate going public. It can't be done in one hour, and they wouldn't do it well anyway. It's a big plot line that deserves more than a last minute mention in a movie.

It does not necessarily need to be a last-minute mention... The movie could open with the Stargate program having been revealed a year prior, and the group dealing with the ramifications of such an event.

How about a movie (2 hour) leading up to the revelation, then at the end, bam, it is revealed, maybe without the SGC being ready, like a leak or something. Then at the end of the first movie it is revealed. Then it says to be continued. Then in the second movie the entire movie (2 hour) deals with the SGC trying to cover it up again, but ultimately failing, and the people become really worried. Then in the third movie (2 hour) the people and the SGC finally come to grips with it all, and everyone becomes comfortable with it, and all the technologies discovered now become public knowledge and start to filter out to the public, and it ends (maybe last 30 minutes or so) with a look 50-100 years in the future, and Earth is like on the tech level of that of the Asgard or something, and its a Utopia, the Fifth Race, finally what it was meant to be. And then that's it, no more Stargate ever, that would be a fitting ending Trilogy for it all.

Id love it if they just went through the Stargate again. Got really boring watching them zip around in space all the time. We already have Voyager and Enterprise for that.

1) Most important, a story that is significant. That means no alternate universes, relaities, or timelines. Preferably no time travel, what so ever.

2) Jack O'Neill in a significant role. Or at least something more important than his piddling cameo in Continuum.

3) Give Teal'c something to do. He had very minimal involvement in Ark of Truth, and even less in Continuum.

4) No Replicators. They're done. No need to use them again. Nothing left to do with them.

I think that the movie should start with President Hayes starting to address the world and tell them about the Stargate, then the movie cuts to black, with a title reading "___ Hours Previously." After that, SG-1's part of the movie starts at the SGC, where SG-1 is having a briefing about a planet with Furling ruins before suiting up and going through the gate. As soon as they step through the gate, they get beamed down into an underground base and find a Lucian Alliance guy asleep on the ground. After waking him up, SG-1 learns that Kefflin took the Alliance after Netan was offed by that bounty hunter and made finding advanced technology a priority, in order to defeat the Tau'ri; as they try to find a way out, the Alliance guy mentions that Kefflin might have found an Ancient satellite weapon and managed to create a copy of its weapon for the Alliance's Ha'taks.

They find a Furling in a stasis module (the Furlings are similiar to anthropomrphized wolves) and accidentally awaken it; it holds them at gun point until Daniel tells it who they are, the Furling proceeds to awaken some more Furlings, before escorting one of the newly awakened Furlings to the SGC (where the Lucian Alliance guy is tossed into a cell). Mitchell and Teal'c head off to see if the Alliance does have an Ancient satellite, hitching a ride on a Ha'tak commanded by Rak'nor, while Daniel tells the Furlings everything that has happened since they went into stasis; in orbit of the Furling planet, a cloaked Tel'tac sends a message to Kefflin after detecting the Furling base power up. Rak'nor's Ha'tak exits hyperspace behind a moon and picks up the Ancient satellite, right before it fires; quick manuevering saves the ship from destruction, but most systems are fried, except for communications and sensors. Mitchell sends a message to Earth that the Alliance has the satellite and that a dozen Ha'taks might be heading to Earth.

Landry sends several SG teams to assist the Furlings awaken everybody in stasis, before having the Odyssey and Apollo take defensive positions in orbit of Earth. Four Ha'taks appear in orbit and two of them use cheap knock offs of the satellite weapon that do some damage to the ships' shields; they are easily dispatched by the Asgard beams. Then they find out that the Ha'taks were distraction, diverting attention from 48 cloaked Al'kesh that have been hiding behind planets and other celestial objects to avoid detection. Half head for the SGC and the others head for Washington DC; the Osyssey and Apollo split up and take on the Al'kesh over the cities in broad daylight.

Meanwhile, the other eight Ha'taks begin attacking the Furling base with ground troops and orbital bombardment. The SG teams fight off the Alliance foot soldiers that manage to get into the base, while the Fulings power up hidden orbital defense satellites and destroy the Alliance ships. Sometime later, SG-1 is informed that the Stargate will be going public and that they will have to go to Washington as part of the press conference at the beginning of the movie.

The movie returns to Hayes' speach, where SG-1, Jack O'Neill, and the Furling representatives come on stage. The movie ends with O'Neill beginning his own speech.

The only plotlines hanging from the show are...

The Trust/Kinsey, The Lucian Alliance and you could say The Jaffa once again re-building after there system of government was destroyed by The Ori but I doubt they will ever get resloved on screen.

Brad Wright has said he wants to do a 3rd movie with O Neill as the main character and even said April 2009 for filming should they get a greenlight for a 3rd and had everything in place.

So the writers once and for all can address Carter/Sam, all we need is some hint because after years of dragging it on, it would be nice to just see the two hook up. A old style episode would be great for O Neill though I would love to see something maybe invovling the Aschen.

I would love to see the Stargate Program become public but it won't happen.

i'm actually more interested in a sequel to the original stargate film. there was (were) going to be one (or more). i actually liked the film concept. no gouauld stuff. just 2006 or 2007 the creator of the first one was talking about developing the sequel with kurt russell and james spader back in their original roles. alas, i don't know what happened.

Wiki says there was speculation that the third SG-1 movie would be a retelling of Children of the Gods. Anyone hear anything more about that?

Honestly, I can't see what the point of that would be.

At some point in the future I'd like to see more Sarah Gardner. After they took out Osiris in season 6 I always figured she'd have some kind of role in the Stargate program. Would've been neato to see her as part of the Atlantis expedition, for instance.

What wiki? They're just planning on doing a "Director's cut" of CotG, no remake, just redoing some effects, tightening the editing, and removing teh boobies.

^ I was sure I read yesterday on Wikipedia that there was a proposal for the third SG-1 film to be a remake of Children of the Gods.

I can't find it now, so I most likely imagined it. Oops.

Third Stargate SG-1 DVD Movie — Considered for filming in early 2009 Brad Wright stated this film would center on the Jack O Neill and it is Wright's goal to reunite as many of the SG-1 cast as possible, depending on the cost of the film and actor availability.Wright has already started work by late July 2008

I think its safe to assume this will be the last SG-1 movie for a while or for good as MGM will most likely produce a number of SG-A plots to wrap up things there and SG-A has more loose ends like The Wraith and a possible new enemy.

What the writers should do is translate the possible new bad guys we keep hearing about into Stargate Universe and have SG-A do at least two solo movies to wrap up the Wraith/Michael plot. After that I would love to see at least 1 joint SG-1/Atlantis movie.

I just read that the 1st SG-A movie will reslove anything left over from 100th episode (which is now not a cliffhanger) even though we were told it would be stand alone so don't know what to think now. Best guess is Michael will finished off even in the 100th episode or 1st movie and then we will have a movie devoted to finding some way to deal with the Wraith, which I think will be a truce using that (5x08 spoiler)...you know what I mean if you have seen 5x08
