What storylines do you NOT want to see in Trek?

Depends on perspective, I don't want to see ships named Enterprise go down so easily.

At least in ST:Beyond, the enemy had a game plan & "A Trap" laid out for the USS Enterprise or whomever else was "Unlucky Enough" to get caught.
Ok, I can see that perspective. Appreciate your explanation.

And, yes, Starfleet and various Federation instillations have terrible Op Sec, and have since "Dagger of the Mind."

That's a SERIOUS Problem IRL.

Much less in Fiction. Something that should be corrected.

At least if something bad happens on a "Away Mission", that can be usually explained.

Or if something bad happens while "exploring the unknown", that can be explained as well.

Well, yeah, obviously. I work in the health field and we treat security seriously. I can imagine a military or such installation.

In fiction, well, that's a pretty common trope that security is lax in some way.
Or if something bad happens while exploring the "unknownn", that can be explained as well.
Well, that's right in the job description. You might die.

Thank you. Yes, our CIO regularly updates us.

I'm not a fan of single note aliens but I doubt Trek is changing that any time soon either.
That's why we need to spend more time with a culture.

The one thing that DS9 did really well was Flesh out the Bajorans, Ferengi's, & Klingons.

We spent ALOT of time with them and got to know them in-depth.

You can't do that if you're hoping planets week to week.

Spending a few weeks at the same planet would be nice, even visit it repeatedly over the course of a series.

There are so many UFP planets I want to see more of as well.

I'd be just as glad never to see a transporter accident, holodeck accident, Q, or the Borg again.

And if they want to invent an interesting new alien like the new Gorn, they can think up a new name for it too.

THANK. YOU!!
In-Universe it should never be a thing. Any captain, Kirk included, should be severely reprimanded if they made it that easy to take over the ship internally, or even threaten it.

Storylines I don't want to see:
Love triangles.
'War' stories.
Bad guys having redemption story arcs.

Eh, TV shows need drama, danger and conflict. In the real world Kirk would probably have a ton of reprimands in his jacket and have a less than stellar rep, but this isn't the real world.

Too much dramatic potential in all of those.

There are other topics that could have potential heavy drama. SNW has been handling several new forms very well.
You know, I might not mind a Borg or time travel story if it featured the Borg involvement in the Temporal Cold War and how they behaved after the Temporal Accords.
My personal favourite fanon is Janeway and her shenanigans in VOY:Endgame was the reason for the Temporal Cold War lol.

I have no particular need for heavy handed, thinly veiled analogies, even though it's a traditional staple of Trek. Episodes like Force of Nature, or the occasional Capital Punishment is Wrong! or Racism is Wrong! or Greenhouse Capitalism Healthcare is Wrong! episodes (even though I agree they are). The TOS episodes that do this get a pass from me since they were still somewhat original back then.
