So, done badly?
Depends on perspective, I don't want to see ships named Enterprise go down so easily.
At least in ST:Beyond, the enemy had a game plan & "A Trap" laid out for the USS Enterprise or whomever else was "Unlucky Enough" to get caught.

Ok, I can see that perspective. Appreciate your explanation.Depends on perspective, I don't want to see ships named Enterprise go down so easily.

That's a SERIOUS Problem IRL.Ok, I can see that perspective. Appreciate your explanation.
And, yes, Starfleet and various Federation instillations have terrible Op Sec, and have since "Dagger of the Mind."
Well, yeah, obviously. I work in the health field and we treat security seriously. I can imagine a military or such installation. That's a SERIOUS Problem IRL.
Well, that's right in the job description. You might die.Or if something bad happens while exploring the "unknownn", that can be explained as well.
Even the Health field IRL has had numerous infamous Database hacks as of the past few years.Well, yeah, obviously. I work in the health field and we treat security seriously. I can imagine a military or such installation.
I'm not a fan of it.In fiction, well, that's a pretty common trope that security is lax in some way.
Thank you. Yes, our CIO regularly updates us.Even the Health field IRL has had numerous infamous Database hacks as of the past few years.
I'm not a fan of single note aliens but I doubt Trek is changing that any time soon either.I'm not a fan of it.

Well, when the studio demands the Enterprise has to be destroyed in this particular movie, and there's already a laundry list of other plot points that absolutely have to happen in this movie...I don't want to see ships named Enterprise go down so easily.

Eh, TV shows need drama, danger and conflict. In the real world Kirk would probably have a ton of reprimands in his jacket and have a less than stellar rep, but this isn't the real world.In-Universe it should never be a thing. Any captain, Kirk included, should be severely reprimanded if they made it that easy to take over the ship internally, or even threaten it.
Too much dramatic potential in all of those.Storylines I don't want to see:
Love triangles.
'War' stories.
Bad guys having redemption story arcs.
There are other topics that could have potential heavy drama. SNW has been handling several new forms very well.Eh, TV shows need drama, danger and conflict. In the real world Kirk would probably have a ton of reprimands in his jacket and have a less than stellar rep, but this isn't the real world.

My personal favourite fanon is Janeway and her shenanigans in VOY:Endgame was the reason for the Temporal Cold War lol.You know, I might not mind a Borg or time travel story if it featured the Borg involvement in the Temporal Cold War and how they behaved after the Temporal Accords.
Hate any romance in Trek. It's very tiresome.Love triangles.

Not a fan of Garak, Kor, Koloth or Kang, eh?Bad guys having redemption story arcs.
