What do you think will happen to "Old Spock" at the end of the film?

Re: What do you think will happen to "Old Spock" at the end of the fil

At the end of the movie Kirk has saved Endor and burned Nero's body. He celebrates with the Ewoks while the ghosts of Spock, McCoy and Scotty look on

That said, I'm sure old Spock's last scene will be with young Spock. Something sentimental. Something weepy. A share of the Vulcan salute. Old Spock telling young Spock to live long and prosper as he fades back into his time. Young Spock saying, "Apparently, I do."

Or Scotty shows Old Spock around the new Enterprise

Spock: Well, it's a new ship, but she's got the right name. Now you remember that, you hear?
Scotty: I will, sir.
Spock: You treat her like a lady, and she'll always bring you home.

^^^
Hee.

Or, more like:
Spock: What the colorful metaphor is this?
Scotty: I'm sorry, sir. What?
Spock: This ship. This is not the Enterprise.
Scotty: I can assure you it is, sir.
Spock: Look, I know the Enterprise. And this is not it. Everything is wrong. The look is wrong.
Scotty (mumbling to himself): Fucking fundy.

Unicorn will transform Spock into Spork, and Spork will be played by Frank Welker.

Re: What do you think will happen to "Old Spock" at the end of the fil

Old Spock will go back to the future, and realize that his kids have ruined everything...then he'll go back to the old west and....well, you know the rest...

Seriously? I bet they leave it up to us to wonder about.....

Spock just returns to the 24th century, altered but in good shape because of the events in this film, and Kirk is alive.

Why would Kirk still be alive in the 24th Century?

Re: What do you think will happen to "Old Spock" at the end of the fil

Old Spock will get hit in the head and wake up in bed with Susane Pleschette.

Re: What do you think will happen to "Old Spock" at the end of the fil

...and he'll tell Nurse Chapel that she should wear more sweaters. :rommie:

Because Picard picked a better time to leave the Nexus and stop Soran? One that didn't have any risk where they could easily detain him? :)

Re: What do you think will happen to "Old Spock" at the end of the fil

Whatever it is, I hope it happens at the beginning of the film; Then we can all move on and enjoy the reboot without the wrinkly old vulcan trying to tie everything together.

Re: What do you think will happen to "Old Spock" at the end of the fil

For all we know, Abrams will kill off Nimoy's Spock once and for all right after he resets history to the way it was "supposed" to be. That could be the big secret plot twist in the movie nobody's revealed yet.

Re: What do you think will happen to "Old Spock" at the end of the fil

Nimoy Spock will die such a glorious death after he fixed the timeline that his death will make up for Kirk's, Data's, and Tucker's.

Re: What do you think will happen to "Old Spock" at the end of the fil

He returns to the future to discover that everything appears as if animated by Filmation.

He says, "TAS: canon - at laaaaaaast".

Re: What do you think will happen to "Old Spock" at the end of the fil

RIP Cousin Selek. :(

Yeah ... he was pretty good in "Magnum, P.I.", too.

Anyway ... in a moment of seriousness, I'm just hoping they don't kill off Spock. Not because I'm hoping to see him again, or because I have some anti-Abrams rant going, but because the original crew are mythological heroes, and I don't think they should be pinned down by gratuitous mortality. Their fate should be left in mystery; cloaked in guesses. Legends don't die ... they retire to Avalon or ride off into the sunset. We know they're mortal, but it's best not to be too specific about such things; lest we lose hope of a reappearance at the hour of greatest need.

And stuff.

And yes, that's why I hate the end of Generations ... no ambiguity about Kirk's death.

Re: What do you think will happen to "Old Spock" at the end of the fil

Having repaired the timeline, and thus negated any need to come back in time in the first place, he'll simply fade away, along with any memories of him.

He shouldnt be, unless with whatever changes to the timeline he still ends up saving the Enterprise B from the Nexus and then goes to Veridian III with Picard but manages to survive the day.

Besides with the changes in the timeline he would return to a time which he never left from, so there is either going to be another one of him there or he died earlier for whatever reason.

Because Picard picked a better time to leave the Nexus and stop Soran? One that didn't have any risk where they could easily detain him? :)

You mean like to near the start of the movie when he was on the Enterprise where he could easily be arrested...he wouldnt have needed Kirks or anyones help that way!

My money is on Spock having the same disease as his father, so decides to live out his remaining days somewhere nice and quiet in whatever time period he chooses.

It'd take Superman reversing the turn of the earth to make up for Trip's shitty demise.

I agree I really hope they dont kill him off. I dont see the need for it really. Just because Nimoy may not be in any more films does not mean his iconic character has to be killed off. Plus there could still be some great novels that could be written with Spock in the 24th century that would not be possible if the character is killed.

Re: What do you think will happen to "Old Spock" at the end of the fil

He's dead Jim.

Here's why: One of the great opportunities is to undue Kirk's death from Generations. "In universe" Spock would move heaven and earth to resurrect Kirk, given all of the history and of course the third movie. It need only be a simple sentence: "Make sure you have a phaser when you are on the Enterprise B".

Then they can smoke the cigars on the porch.

This won't happen. Spock would do it under any circumstances. So I believe he does not survive the film.

Re: What do you think will happen to "Old Spock" at the end of the fil

If Nimoy does irreversibly perish in the new movie, it might be THE seminal scene in the entire film...overshadowing anything involving the new cast and retconned Enterprise and sets. Which might be a good thing if the fanbase doesn't react terribly well to the aesthetic overhaul and some of the new actors.
