Lol, I'm getting caught up in that debate and by any objective standard it is pointless.
As a UK resident it reminds me of Brexit. Each side is firmly entrenched based on emotion rather than logic and we're selectively using the few facts to make points in our favour. And there's little to no chance any of us are going to change our minds

Seriously, as a Brit of a certain age I hadn't heard of the Kardashians until everyone had heard of the Kardashians and for a a shamefully long period of time thought "Keeping up with..." was a forthcoming Trek spin-off.
Not sure what a reality TV show set in the Empire would have been like..

Having pointless fun is definitely the point - which is the sort of computer-destroying paradox trek might use.
