"If you ever go back in time, don't step on ANYTHING!"
Or in anything, since something like that caused life to form on Earth.

Oh wait, that really doesn't work as a crappy joke...

Near the end of 'All Good Things...' after the trial, Picard asks Q ”what is it that you're trying to tell me?” Q leans over and almost says something to Picard's ear but instead he says ”you'll figure it out”.
Maybe Q really thought about telling Jean Luc about Robert and Rene's fate but decided against it to prevent the changes it may have on the timeline further down the way.1. "Tell Robert, its the 24th century, install fire alarms"
2. "I just broke wind"
3. "Starfleet lied to you, money does exist, they just don't want to pay you"
4. The revolution will not be televised, it will be on holodeck 5"
"Starfleet really is a military."3. "Starfleet lied to you, money does exist, they just don't want to pay you"

I've always thought this too. Throughout the series, Q has mentioned that humanity is progressing faster than we (the Q Continuum) expected. He alluded to that in Q-Who but I think the idea was raised in Farpoint and possibly Hide and Q too.I got the impression Q was tipping his hand about the human future and the next step. That would fit the central narrative of the show.
