I've been calling my wife "sweetie" since before we were married. Oddly enough, I think I called her that within a couple of weeks after we were dating. So I haven't called her by her actual name for around 11 years. She simply calls me "D", which is the first letter of my name. She also calls me that because it's my gangsta-pimp name.
But I can rest my head on it.

Babe and baby are the most common ones we use for each other. I also sometimes call him J-babe (his first name starts with a J). It just sort of rolls off the tongue.

Actually we always call each other Sweetie. I never actually call her by her name unless I am angry. Everyone else in the world calls her Kim which I refuse to do because Kim is like a work name. When I refer to her by a name it is always Kitty because before we met and were just talking online she told me that is what her nickname was. Later she confessed to me she made that up, but it stuck with me so I am the only one in the world who calls her Kitty.
