What Did You Have For Dinner Last Night?

Last night was pretty simple, just whole wheat pasta (shells, since I had forgotten we were out of linguine and spaghetti) aglio e olio. I've been sick as a dog since Monday afternoon, so I really didn't have the energy to cook anything more complex. The nice thing about aglio e olio is that the biggest part of the cooking time is just heating the pasta water, since you can chop your garlic while the water gets to a boiling point, and you don't need to start heating the oil until you throw the pasta into the pot.

^^^ I like wheat pasta myself. It seems to have gotten better in the past few years. Actually I boiled up some wheat pasta yesterday, threw in some asparagus, yellow pepper, and herb cheese for a "sauce". Tonight we had a soup of sorts. It was like a salsa with added corn and black beans, chopped red onion and some chicken broth. Delicious and not entirely unhealthy!

I'm at a hotel now so I had access to an actual restaurant last night. I ate a bowl of New England clam chowder and a Reuben sandwich.

Microwaved raw fish fillets & chicken thighs with ketchup.
Cashews, peanuts, chestnuts.
Bananas

Not a cook. I tried to make batter by adding whole wheat flour to egg, then coating my chicken with it. After cooking, the "batter" became omelette.

Chips and gravy. Haven't had that for at least 6 years. Happy to wait another 6 years to try it again, though I will be ordering some chips and poutine next time I'm in the city.
