What Did You Have For Dinner Last Night?

It was so hot here that I decided to have a nice big tossed salad with lots of greens, broccoli, cherry tomatoes, purple onions, shredded carrots, sliced black olives, sunflower seeds, croutons with homemade buttermilk ranch dressing. I also toasted up some slices of a bagette with garlic and I made to spread on it some hummus.

Then for dessert I sliced some fresh strawberries and topped them with some fat free Cool Whip.
OOoh, I made some hummus last night as well. I threw some olives in this time, and it was delicious!

Spag Neapolitan by me. Well, the sauce was a generic, but a little butter through the pasta, and half a teaspoon of basil pesto through the sauce, and it was damned good.

Grilled Salmon with a lemon dill sauce and a baked sweet potato with cinnamon. For dessert fresh raspberries, blueberries and blackberries with fat free Cool Whip. And green iced tea to drink.

Yeah I love hummus too but I know a lot of people don't. I just love the mix of flavors and the spread-like texture.

Houmous rocks! I have red pepper houmous in my fridge right now, and I've been adding a few freshly shredded mint leaves when serving, gives it a fantastic little zing.

Last night, my wife and I had ribeye steaks (these bastards were about two inches thick prior to cooking, they were amazing), fresh mashed potatoes, white sweet corn and a romaine salad topped with balsamic vinaigrette. I went light on the Dijon mustard in favor of some extra garlic while blending the dressing, and it turned out amazing.

One of our favorite restaurants in Boston was closing after nearly 20 years, so we went to the closing bash: had their signature Wedge salad and their fabulous lobster mac and cheese. Yum! It was a great night with friends old and new. But, I'm sad that our old haunt is no more. RIP, Laurel; thanks for the memories!

I hate that feeling!

There was a nice sit-down family style Chinese place where I grew up that we went to many times when it was a go out to dinner occasion.

They closed for what seemed like renovations shortly before I moved out in 2005. When I came back to visit a few weeks later, I thought it might be nice to grab a bite there.

Turns out they reopened under new management as some hip, trendy Japanese bistro. :scream:

As for last night, red beans over coconut rice.

Skewers of grilled chicken and lamb, on a bed of white rice and mixed salad, topped with garlic and chilli sauces.
