My wife and I celebrated our 16th anniversary last night at The Fort restaurant in Morrison, Colorado.
We started with mango infused peanut butter stuffed into jalapeno peppers.
My entree was a game rib platter consisting of lamb, wild boar, and bison ribs. The lamb was way too fatty, but the boar was really tender and flavorful, and the bison was simply amazing. Mrs. Kirby had sirloin steak with fresh roasted gonzales chile.
We had a bottle of Colorado wine, a blend of cab, syrah, and something else. Our local wines aren't great, but they are way better than when they started back in the early 90s.
Desert was coconut creme brule which was also very good.

Belated congrats Kirby! I went to Denny's with friends last night and decided to be bold and order something different and boy did I end up regretting my choice. I got the Southwestern Steak Burrito which looked good on the menu but wasn't at all. I ended up getting a Cookies and Cream pie for desert. I'll be going over to my parents for Sunday night dinner tonight to make up for last night's disaster.

Chicken patties, Chicken Rice-A-Roni, Chicken stuffing and chicken gravy. We were too chicken to have something else...

One of my leaving presents yesterday were some eggs from the free-range hens that a work colleague keeps. So when I had dinner with some friends yesterday evening, we just had to make omelettes. Nothing beats the taste of fresh eggs laid that day.
