What Did You Have For Dinner Last Night?

^^^ I hope you feel better by the hour.

Last night I made rosemary roasted pork loin with a port wine fig sauce, wild rice and broccolini. That sauce was pretty slammin'. ;)

I asked for some with my G&T and was told they're no longer available due to cost cutting but I could have some chocolate-covered raisins instead. Don't ask me to explain why these are cheaper than the peanuts.

They're probably not. They may just have purchased a warehouse full of them in 1993 and have to use them up. :borg:

I mentioned this little anecdote to a friend today and she suggested that it probably had nothing to do with cost-cutting at all, but rather to reduce the risk of lawsuits from peanut allergies. She heard somewhere that the allergens can get into the air and recirculate with the enclosed cabin space and a/c in a plane, potentially causing a reaction in people with nut allergies even if they don't actually eat them themselves.

*shrug* I guess that's plausible.

A fantastic, hearty, beef and barley stew that I made in my slow-cooker on Sunday--I had the leftovers tonight. I'll post the recipe here if anyone's interested, or just PM me for it.

^sounds great right about now!

Green Bean casserole and a salad - green night at our house - meat free. Not as much fun as it sounds . . .

Boneless pork rib TV dinner. I understand that the cafeteria won't always have something I can eat (wheat allergy), but having to skip over half of the meals that I have to pay out the ass for ahead of time is getting a tad old.

Blackened sword fish with mango salsa. We had a couple of freakishly warm days here, and I'd picked up a fresh mango, so figured I'd take advantage of both and fire up the grill. Did grilled salmon with tzatziki (left over from the souvlaki last week) the night before. We're sort of in a fish mode this week.
