What Did You Have For Dinner Last Night?

After eating way too much during the day, just a light dinner of cheese-on-toast tonight. Haven't done that for ages; quite a nice change really!

It's a plate of green beans tonight -- if anything. I'm having trouble getting my blood sugar to stay put today, so I haven't eaten yet. If it goes low enough later, some green beans.

Pork fried rice. We added in what was left of the pork roast from the other night so it was a bit more "porkier" than usual.
Double porked fried rice is the best sloppy seconds :p

That sounds goooooood. :bolian:

Because of all the talk about beef stew on this thread lately, I threw one in the slow cooker this morning. Had some great nutty country bread with it and an Sam Oktoberfest. It didn't suck. ;)

An exceptionally unhealthy day today.

Whopper with cheese for lunch, then I cooked some sausages for dinner.

I'll make up for it with a healthy day tomorrow. :p

I had the most delicious baked mac and cheese ever. The waitstaff was nice, the company was nice, and the drink that went with dinner was nice. :)

Garlic-pesto shrimp and veggies over wheat pasta.

Tonight will probably be chicken w/ mushrooms---and maybe some potatoes. Haven't decided yet.

Grilled wild coho salmon with tzatziki, grilled asparagus (marinated in Greek dressing) and cous cous with sun-dried tomatoes and capers. It didn't suck. ;)

I went out for lunch today to catch up with a friend I hadn't seen properly in about a year, which was lots of fun. I took her to a local restaurant that's staffed by students on the hospitality & cookery courses at one of the local universities... under professional supervision of course!

The food is usually pretty good. Today was no exception; especially the desserts - her chocolate orange mousse was deliciously rich and my pavlova with caramelised bananas was well lush. It's all fairly priced and best of all, you get to grade the students on their performance, which is always good fun.

I was nice, I promise!

Last night was steak, onions and a loaded baked (jacket) potato.

Something interesting I found in the pantry last night was a can of creamed peas with onions and "pork". That's a genuine Southern dish so I was kind of wondering how we ended up with it since you can't buy it around here. Turns out it was a return from one of the people my wife delivers food to. I wonder how long it will sit there until curiosity gets the best of us and we open it up.

A pork chop with corn. I get chops that are antibiotic free and the pigs are raised on a small scale farm.
