what characters do you dislike the most?

I REALLY could not stand Jadzia Dax. Somehow, she managed to come off as even more smug and arrogant than Guinan and was almost as useless. Her job could have been filled by any no-name red shirt of the week with little disruption to the plot. What really bothered me was that everyone put her on a pedestal for things her previous incarnations did! The show goes to great lengths to point out that each incarnation is different than the previous ones and yet they expect us to think Jadzia is a badass because one of her earlier incarnations met Leonard McCoy or negotiated a treaty with the Klingons and such.

Another character I couldn't stand was Jake Sisko. He did absolutely nothing of value throughout the series, he was as irritating as a gnat and received just as much characterization. All the other characters seemed to have developed over the seasons but not Jake. Jake still remained the same lazy, shiftless, spoiled, useless character he was at the very beginning of the series. They should have just killed Jake off for all the good he did on the show. At the very least, his death would have made a decent episode, certainly superior to any one of those ungodly Ferengi episodes.

Sisko. I found him boring in comparison to the other characters. Jake was quite whiny, Nog is exempt as he is Rom's son.

Here are the 3 I didn't care much for.
Kai Winn. I hated her from the first time I saw her.
I wasn't too crazy about Damar.
Keiko O'Brien. She just got on my last good nerve.

Keiko was an annoying crabass. She existed to give O'brien a reason not to want to go home. I didn't mind Miles, but he was also a crabass, and his friendship with Julian was a little annoying at times. Their reciting of war poems on the Defiant bridge was cheesy (why Bashir was even ON the bridge half the time is a mystery) and that awful moment when - seconds after returning to the station in Sacrifice of Angels - the two of them make a dash for the holosuites made my eyes roll. No work to do guys?

Bareil - the actor was terrible, with his leaden monotone delivery. He ground every episode he was in to a halt and when the character died, I let out with three loud cheers. Shaakar was better but only because the actor was more lively. But he was just a Li Nalas replacement and I liked Li a lot. His character was complex and riviting, and he never should have been killed off in The Seige. It made his story pointless.

Moogie.

Kai Winn. Louise Fletcher played her so brilliantly though. I always thought that she was a bitch. Didn't care for Keiko either.

Grand Nagus Zek was my favorite. I also really liked Sisko and Quark. Though Jadzia was hot! Garak was really cool too.

Recurring characters, the genetically enhanced retards who visited Julian two or three times. Dunno their names, but it was Sexy woman, Old man child, the insane sociopath, and the girl who wont talk.

why Bashir was even ON the bridge half the time is a mystery

Trying to avoid the tiny non-medical bay? With 3 beds and no office for him to wait in why not the bridge where 20% or so of the staff is in the first place?

Jim

Jake never had much to do except be Sisko's son, so he was never missed when he wasn't around but what I disliked the most was the squandering of the Dukat / Winn characters to a mindlessly absurd storyline. I could forgive the stupid holosuite stories but not that. Season 7 is the worst character in DS9.

Bridge of the Defiant? Apart from obvious of had to have actor on away missions: in-universe, doesn't Bashir take Science station while Jadzia at helm? And I guess can be useful having doc on the bridge number of times Defiant got its ass kicked...

Agree on the Dukat/Winn 'bad romance' plotline. Shoot the writers. Jake-o I think was best when simply being Sisko's son. Though I like that ep where he's trapped in war zone with Bashir and is basically scared crap-less. Thought that was good use of character as audience surrogate....

The only one who I wanted to strangle was Rom, all the others I liked to some extent, which is rare in a Star Trek series. Poor Voyager I am having hard time finding someone to like in the early seasons but Kes and the Doctor.

Ezri Dax. Slightly annoying character. Luckily I didn't have to watch her for very long.

But in general, there were no characters that I truly disliked from DS9. I thought they were all great, in their own way.

The character I disliked the most was Ziyal. So annoying. If I was my fathers illegitimate child I would want nothing to do with him. She is so idiotic. She knows her father committed crimes on Bajor but she turns a blind eye. For me she comes across and needy and spoiled. You think being in a Breen labour camp would have toughened her up a bit. She is a bit weak to be either a Bajoran or a Cardassian.
I liked O`Brian the most. Being Irish myself and knowing his other work. He was cast as the stereotypical thick Irishman. I didn`t like it when they had him singing English Patriotic songs with Julian though. Can`t remember what episode but I remember it annoying me a lot.

Ezri annoyed me to no end. I think they shouldn't have returned Dax to the series at all, and just replaced the science officer with another qualified crew member. Did they ever even get a new science officer? Since when is a councilor a good substitute for a scientist?? Anyway, if they had brought Dax back in a male host, I think it would have made for more interesting character interaction between the regular crew and the new host, and it could have been done in a couple of episodes to wrap everything up before introducing the new science officer.

Leeta. Obnoxious.

Kai Winn was the kind of character you love to hate, and I therefore love her. lol She was so underhanded and manipulative, it was great to see what sort of nasty bit of business she'd be doing next, and to what end.
Though, I absolutely hated the Dukat/Winn romance. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, writers?

Season 7 is the worst character in DS9.
THIS.

I've always liked Dukat and Winn, but the season 7 romance/Pah Wraith angle was just....awful.

Ziyal, I liked her too, but her angelic, "show them you're a man of peace" urging seemed too forced. She had to have known Dukat was rotten at some point.

I disliked the whole Pah Wraith thing from the start. It came out of nowhere and it felt too...Stargate. Don't get me wrong, I like Stargate, but I don't want to see a Klingon in the SGC anymore than I want random ethereal Wraith creatures infecting my favourite characters. lol

Recurring characters, the genetically enhanced retards who visited Julian two or three times. Dunno their names, but it was Sexy woman, Old man child, the insane sociopath, and the girl who wont talk.

Sexy woman is Lauren
Old man child is Patrick
Insane sociopath is Jack
Girl who won't talk is Serena
I liked the 4 of them, myself.

BTW...In the season 7 episode Chrysalis, Dr. Bashir, with a little technological help from Jack, Patrick and Lauren, did some type of surgery on Serena and she became able to talk. Once she became able to talk, I found her the only sane one of the 4 of them.

Here are the 3 I didn't care much for.
Kai Winn. I hated her from the first time I saw her.
I wasn't too crazy about Damar.
Keiko O'Brien. She just got on my last good nerve.

I knew I forgot 2: MICHAEL EDDINGTON and GUL DUKAT.
Michael Eddington was boring waste of screen space and time till they made him a member of the Maquis-(mah key). Then he became kind of interesting.

I was intrigued by Gul Dukat. Some episodes, I actually found myself liking him. I felt sorry for him at the end of Sacrifice of Angels. But all that evaporated after the season 6 episode Waltz. After Waltz, I hated Dukat.

:cardie:Dukat: Hate me?! How can you hate me?! Everybody likes me. Even Major Kira, though she would never admit it. And Captain Sisko not only likes me, he admires me. And...
:cardie:Garak: Oh, shut up, Dukat. Before you make the poor girl so sick even Dr. Bashir can't help.
:rommie::guffaw::lol::devil:

THIS!

Keiko is the most annoying character in all of Trek, even if the actress is !!! She was a witch from her first appearance on TNG in "Data's Day!" I was hoping O'Brien wouldn't marry her! :guffaw:
