Since seeing the intro, my expectations have grown immensely.

An entertaining way to distract myself from my inevitable death for roughly a hour, it's all I ask for any show.

Heh ... can we assume that the green bar below your name might somewhat be the cause of that inevitable death?

No, just a side effect of being a human being.

I can't be bothered with much TV that doesn't really please me. I watch a little stuff that I wouldn't otherwise in order to share time with my mate, who enjoys stuff that drives me a little nuts. But I got a few things yet to do, as my inevitable death draws nie.

Seeing the intro, the teasers and all the interviews with the actors, I am very hopeful. Sure, the effects and graphics are updated, but this looks like TOS at its finest. Episodic, hopeful and groundbreaking.

In the words of Christopher Pike, “Hit it.”

I expect to enjoy it. Hopefully it will be delightful. Then I expect to come here and find the usual suspects trying mightily to shit all over it, which is fine. There's plenty of room on my ignore list.

Not to mention its own billiard balls court and missile launch tube.

I suspect I will like it, because frankly if it has Star Trek in the title I usually enjoy it even if suffers from weak writing (I'm not one of the reactionary "this isn't Star Trek" types *eyeroll*). And I love Anson Mount as Pike so I'm excited about that. But in all honesty, I'm kind of "blah" on yet another TOS era prequel...I know I might be in the minority about that. I'm just not really a big TOS person and I know from some people who've seen the first five episodes, there is allegedly a strong TOS camp vibe to the show.

Looking through this thread, I wonder why some of you even post here. Some of you sound as if you don't even like Star Trek.

My expectations? I don't have any. I hope it'll be good. I hope I'll like it enough to stick with it, but there hasn't been a Kurtzman Trek show yet that's held my interest. Honestly the last show I watched start to finish as it aired was TNG. Although I did circle back and finally watch all of DS9, ENT and 80% of Voyager. Anson Mount was excellent in season 2 of DISCO. Not thrilled with a Khan relative on the ship, they push the Khan button way too hard on Star Trek.

My expectations? It'll be pretty good. And after the premiere episode I have to say: it is.
