So, did the script change or just the actors? Did they say "Oh, we didn't cast Asians we cast Black actors. Quick, stop making them inscrutable and make them... Polyamorous where the women hold the property?" (Is that an African thing?)The thing to remember about Code of Honor is the writer wanted them to cast Asians rather than black people. And when she got the opportunity to write for Stargate SG-1, she basically did the same story again, but with Mongols.
So the script was a misbegotten, racist piece of trash too. It was just based in "barbarous orient" stereotypes rather than being about black lasciviousness.
I already said how in the same, brief, reply. I’ll say again because I’d like you to actually answer my question, because I actually do want to know. But saying something isn’t the worst episode of a series when there isn’t a worse episode than it, is not an opinion. It’s just wrong. Ergo, delusion. You can still like a worst episode of something, but that doesn’t make it not the worst. So, if there are actually episodes you find worse than those, please say which. How can one be delusional about their personal preferences?
I mentioned this in a thread about Generations, but I think they were constrained by the launch of UPN in January of 1995, and wanting Generations in theaters to help promote Star Trek as a franchise, since Voyager was going to be UPN's flagship show.I wonder if there was ever any consideration given to having more of a pause between the TNG series finale and the production of Generations. It seems like both the TNG final season and Generations would probably have benefitted from it.
You aren't gonna say TATV is not the worse episode of ENT?Controversial Opinion:
The "legendary worst episodes" of Trek almost never are.
Spock's Brain is not the worst episode of TOS.
Shades of Gray is not the worst episode of TNG.
Move Along Home is not the worst episode of DS9.
Threshold is not the worst episode of VOY.
Not a hard and fast rule. Note that I said "almost never".![]()
To me, TNG's "Shades of Grey" is a low point for the franchise as a whole. I understand it was an accepted practice in the 1980s to do a "clip show" as an episode, and the reason they did it was budgetary too. But come on.
Are you telling me in that entire writer's room no one could come up with an idea where you strip it down to the bare minimum of effects with a story set in the Star Trek universe? Some of the best episodes didn't need space battles or VFX. It was just a bunch of characters in a room dealing with a problem.
Why do you think I stopped listing at VOY?You aren't gonna say TATV is not the worse episode of ENT?
The original statement was my opinion. It was never an attempt at some objective truth. In my opinion, there are worse eps of each of the series than the eps I referenced. If I tell you the eps I personally find worse, what actual difference does that make? But saying something isn’t the worst episode of a series when there isn’t a worse episode than it, is not an opinion. I'm not asking for objective truth. Heck, if any one of us could conjure that I wouldn't need to ask of it from you.Why do you think I stopped listing at VOY?
