Exactly. Just as Riker and Geordi were always in the Phoenix cockpit with Zefram Cochrane, even if history only records one person in the cockpit (or someone else not named Riker and LaForge) when the first warp flight happened.
Brings to mind some old caption contests entriesOnce the newspaper article got scanned that said Edith died in a traffic accident, her fate was sealed. She could not come to the future with Kirk, because then there would be no way to ensure that that newspaper article got written. Her dead body had to be there, a result of the traffic accident, for the timeline to be as it was.

Meanwhile I think it is controversial to like Starfleet Academy because it seems that the entire internet is full of hate against it what I don't understand.
a college story in space.
The arrangement was that they'd be returned once they were successful at stopping McCoy changing history.
And does it occur to anyone else that it's ultimately a predestination paradox? Edith wouldn't have been at that spot in the first place if Kirk wasn't taking her to the movies. She wouldn't have moved to cross the street if she wasn't witnessing the reunion of Kirk and McCoy.
Same with Rogash.Language barriers? Don't you know, by an amazing coincidence everybody in the universe speaks Rigellian, which is exactly the same as English, even down to the lip movements.
Ain't it a bitch.sometimes people get it right, but never get to know they did.
Short trip for him.Marla McGivers' death probably sent him off the deep end.

A teacher asked the question: what would the city fathers say of Hiroshima and Nagasaki?
And what was the reply? To the question?
I don't think it's that weird for it to be a situation where they have to fix the problem to make the door open, denying them the easy option of just taking the problem out through the door. It would've been much worse if they just didn't think of it.But removing a living Edith from the past would've had the same effect as her death. The only reason it wasn't an option is because the writers decided it had to be a tragedy. But it's artificially set up to force that outcome.

Since Edith's obituary was shown, that made it the only viable option to restore the timeline.Except it didn't really require Edith to die. It required Edith no longer to be on Earth after 1930. Couldn't Kirk have just brought her back with him through the Guardian? She was forward-looking enough that she could probably have adapted to the 23rd century at least as well as, say, Gillian Taylor. Although maybe the Guardian wouldn't have allowed that, but the episode didn't specify.

I really like it too, and I didn't think I would.Meanwhile I think it is controversial to like Starfleet Academy because it seems that the entire internet is full of hate against it what I don't understand. I am a critical Trekkie and I don't like everything about Star Trek, f.e. I never liked DISCO, I don't hate it though, I don't hate anything about Star Trek. Anyway, so far I really enjoy watching Starfleet Academy, for me it is refreshing and exciting, something new, no Spock, no Kirk, no Picard, no Pike, new characters, a college story in space.

There are elements of SFA I really likeMeanwhile I think it is controversial to like Starfleet Academy because it seems that the entire internet is full of hate against it what I don't understand. My wife asked me what the heck was the Captain's problem with the latest one. Captains have to inspire leadership, not reenact slumber party slouches. She said she wouldn't be able to serve under someone like that. There are elements of SFA I really like
and there are elements I just can't stand(political makeup of the galaxy recovering from The Burn, trying to get worlds back into the Federation)
. At least the latest episode helped(the music, the teen drama, the officers not being professional)
, so I am hoping that continues. That alone might be enough to elevate this series above DISCO, despite having the other stuff I dislike.address the officers acting more professional (something DISCO was simply incapable of doing)
I said before SFA premiered that I just want it to be better than DISCO. I still want that to happen and have that hope.
(Side note: I just realized that what I like and dislike about SFA might be considered a spoiler, even though it's not specific events or such. To be on the safe side, I put them in spoiler tags.)
And the only reason the Guardian couldn't just tell them where McCoy went or send them to the same time to retrieve him was because the story had to be complicated. It's an ancient time portal. It should be more useable. Very forced. But removing a living Edith from the past would've had the same effect as her death. The only reason it wasn't an option is because the writers decided it had to be a tragedy. But it's artificially set up to force that outcome.
