What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

Fans never fail to convince me why fans should never, ever be put in charge of a franchise.
You do know that a good chunk of all the modern Trek Productions are run by "Fans of the franchise".
They just happen to work in Hollywood as well.

They aren't just rando's chosing to work on this strange old Sci-Fi franchise called "Star Trek: ___".

i tried to get people talking about klingon forehead ridges but nobody partook
We do not discuss it with outsiders!

No, really, my view has always been: No explanation of the visual differences between TOS/TAS and everything made from TMP onward should have ever been provided. Literally not ever. What they said in "Trials and Tribble-ations" should have been treated as a humorous* fourth wall violation and never referenced again, ever.

* - and it was hilarious.

There, that should stir the pot enough to get this thread back on track!:devil::beer::cool:

How so, you keep on hating on Trekkies & fans working in later Trek productions.

I know this won't sink in, but those fans were actual professionals who put in the work to make the decisions. They are professionals who happen to be fans.

When some of the best Trek series had "Many Trekkies" working across the entire production staff who knew what it was about.

The best is the original Star Trek. Their production folks put just as much love into their craft as any fan from a later iteration.
