What are you watching???

For me, I just binge watched Marco Polo on Netflix. Production values were through the roof. Location shoots, costumes, the works.. The acting for the most part was decent, though the writing was week at times. Since this was originally supposed to be on STARS as a Sparticus replacement, the early episodes had quite a bit of nudity that didn't really service the story to the extent it felt gratuitous. I'd say the last few episodes were really good and made up for the slow, weaker start..

YMMV

A relatively new Poster quickly self-destructing.

Oh, and also, "A View to a Kill"

Got the "Bond 50" last Christmas, and doing it again. The special effects and clarity are very nice.

Guardians of the Galaxy with the commentary on.
What's your opinion so far? I'm still holding off on buying the Blu-ray until the inevitable upgraded version with even more material shows up.

@Topic: Watching Batman Beyond while I'm waiting for the mail man to show up with the laptop I ordered.

I enjoy commentaries from directors, so I like it. However, the disc doesn't seem to contain that many features. The deleted scenes are enjoyable. There's one with the guard who stole Quill's Walkman. If features are your thing, you may want to wait.

Thanks! The whole point of having a disc instead of just renting it from some online service is to get the bonus material for a more in-depth look. So, thanks for the heads-up!

I have to say, the writing on SNL has improved since the start of the season.

The 'Asian American Doll' sketch might be their best all year.

I'm still going through episodes of the Roger Moore series "The Saint."

I loved that show - and I've got the music running through my head now. The last time I saw it was in the early 80's when a channel was re-running them. You've made me wonder if any of the stations are showing it again, now. I shall look.

Right now I'm watching "The Great Christmas Light Fight".

Daniel Jackson?

No, it was Casey Novak of Law and order SVU. I was annoyed when they replaced her with a weak copy.

Based on my understanding Daniel Jackson was more of a Sharona/Natalie situation than a Crusher/Pulaski situation. I think I agree with Michael Shanks that Daniel Jackson kind of got toned down in the later seasons.

With procedurals like SVU and CSI, producers like to kill off the most believable, human characters and replace them with sexier, more sarcastic, glibber, more relationshippy, more gimmicky characters. CSI: Miami and NCIS are particularly guilty of this.

House is also pretty guilty of this when they replaced the moralist wet blanket with a sexy manipulative dying bisexual. Although I guess in the same trade they brought in the most boring character of the series (Taub).

Can we just have a moment of silence to remember the outstanding tenure of Cut Throat Bitch before her untimely expiration.

We love you Cut Throat Bitch.

You will never be forgotten.

I finished my Farscape DVD re-watch, and now I'm taking a break from TV shows to re-watch movies for a while. First up is the Star Wars series.
