What Are You Eating/Drinking (Any Time)?

Re: What Are You Eating/Drinking Right Now?

Some diet soda on ice. Still haven't decided what I want for lunch or when I want it since breakfast was so late.

^Hmmm... Around here, and right now, people are getting ready for dinner while I'm having my 'morning' coffee :p

Re: What Are You Eating/Drinking Right Now?

clam chowdah!!
That is a basic food in your area, isn't it?

Only recently I found out that I actually know this dish; I was talking with Ghost over on Flukies board and happened to describe how I steamed some clams -in the way we do here- and ranted on about how I had never even tasted a clam chowder, which was something I thought sounded just heavenly.

Turns out Ghost identified my recipe as being indistinguishable from that of a clam chowder :rommie:
(Except; here we serve the clams (or mussels as it were) in their shells and the liquid as a dipping sauce for some bread.)

...if it's not swimmin' in butter you're doing it wrong ;)

Our kitchen used to bring in clam chowder every Friday from Legal Seafoods but that stopped a few years back. It was the very best. It's still a Friday soup option, but not quite as good as the Boston classic.

Re: What Are You Eating/Drinking Right Now?

Rigeligt smør... (~plenty of butter) was the catchphrase of some guy cooking on TV.

Nowadays his sons cook on TV and tend to use a clip of their dad delivering the phrase whenever they use plenty of butter in a recipe.

Butter is like bacon... no substitutes exist.

Re: What Are You Eating/Drinking Right Now?

Sipping on some Wild Turkey 101 on ice. Yeah I know, no self-respecting person would dilute their drinks with water or ice.

A couple of vanilla creme-filled donuts from Dunkin' Donuts. Was craving a sweet snack.

Oh I don't know, loads of real connoisseurs use a drop or two of dihydrogen monoxide to allow flavours, that might otherwise be missed in a high proof whiskey, to better emerge :)

It also does the trick if your gin is a bit on the strong side ;)

Re: What Are You Eating/Drinking Right Now?

I have been bored all day... so I baked a cake for a neighbour, and now I'm baking some Scottish shortbread. I shall be enjoying it soon. :3 *waits patiently*
