What Are the Worst Star Trek Episodes?

lol I've seen Ben's threads/posts. One of the first things I figured out here as that he and I are on total opposite ends of the Trek spectrum. He breaks things down to levels that would never occur to me. I watch strictly to be entertained, not to break down what would have really happened in Ireland in 1846, or whip out maps for location comparisons. Besides, Tom Paris programmed it for christ's sakes. How accurate could anyone realistically expect it to be?

I mean it's cool that he's that dedicated, and he seems like a really smart guy, but that detailed of a critical analysis really isn't my cup o' tea.

TNG - The entire first two seasons (with the exceptions of Q Who and The Emissary)

I protest this judgment. "The Measure of a Man" is by far one of the best episodes of the entire series.

DS9: Take Me Out to the Holosuite

Have you no heart? :( This is one of the most entertaining, joyful, fun, and just overall greatest DS9 episodes. Like many of the finest episodes, it has an original and alluring story and gives much of the cast the opportunity to have at least one great moment. One of my top five favourites for sure. There are plenty of episodes in TNG and DS9 I didn't like, but I can't name a worst one because I always skip the ones I didn't like, so I can't remember them. On the other hand, "Plato's Stepchildren" and "And the Children Shall Lead" were so torturous they were unforgettably terrible.

Here are the episodes that I consider either too boring or too stupid to bother watching again:

TOS
: The Omega Glory
TOS: The Paradise Syndrome
TNG: Shades of Gray
TNG: Sub Rosa
VOY: Someone to Watch Over Me
VOY: The Q and the Gray
DS9: Profit and Lace
ENT: A Night in Sickbay
ENT
: Two Days and Two Nights
ENT: Unexpected

Actually, I could amend this to include just about any episode that features Q :wtf:

No, just no!:D Seriously, apart from a couple of nice lines I just can't be doing with this episode at all. I hated the conflict between Sisko and Solok (which made them both look like idiots) and... well it's hard to put a finger on, but the episode just annoys me in so many ways! But then I like Fascination and The Emperor's New Cloak, so what do I know?;)

ENT: "These are the Voyages..." bah.
VOY: "Threshold" good lord...
VOY: "Tattoo" there's plenty of episodes in trek that bore me, but this one? I can barely stay awake.
DS9:"Move Along Home" URG...

Also for VOY, that nightmare clown one, the best part of the episode is when the Doctor suddenly appears and instructs on the proper handling of a scaple, but thats about it.

My choices:

TOS: The Omega Glory
TOS: The Way To Eden
TOS: And The Children Shall Lead

TNG: The Masterpiece Society
TNG: The Loss
TNG: The Outrageous Okona

DS9: Profit And Lace
DS9: His Way
DS9: Sanctuary

VOY: 11:59
VOY: Fury
VOY: Fair Haven

ENT: Storm Front
ENT: Fusion
ENT: Precious Cargo

There are episodes I do dislike, but I wouldn't consider them the worst of Trek.

TOS- their worst episode is still better than most Trek. Although "And the Children Shall Lead" is pretty bad. TOS bears up to repeated viewings.
TNG- most Data and Troi centric episodes
DS9- everything except "Little Green Men" and "Trials and Tribble-ations"
VOY- the ones where Janeway acts contrary to everything she supposedly preaches
ENT- TATV, obviously

Starship Defiant:

Yeah, the Voyager episode with the clown is called The Thaw.
Pretty darn creepy and disturbing episode if you ask me.

TNG: Sub Rosa

Threeb:

Oh, dang. I forgot about that one. Sub Rosa was a major snooze fest. Definitely would add that to my list, thats for sure.

I thought the thread was for serious answers.

The worst Trek episodes are way, way, way too numerous to try to name. The thread title makes it sound like there are only a handful, but really, there are several hundred.

DS9: Sanctuary

Lor'Vela:

Oh heck yeah. The "Sanctuary" was just painful. I absolutely despised the alien race known as the Srreeans. Every time they complained I wanted to tie them up and put a roll of duck tape over their mouth and then throw them into Morn's bathroom after he just took a big dump.

Side Note:

Oh, and for every time they passed out from the horrid stench, I would awaken them quickly with a hypo and make them relive the pain of the smell over and over (repeatedly).

Dishonorable Mentions....
TOS - Mudd's Women
TOS - Catspaw
TOS - Spectre of the Gun
TOS - Spock's Brain
TNG - The entire first two seasons (with the exceptions of Q Who and The Emissary).
But not The Measure of A Man? :cardie:

Okay, add Measure of a Man to the exceptions. I guess I didn't include it because it almost invariably is the episode I catch when TNG airs on T.V. It's a good episode, but I'm just tired of it.

It is and I did give a serious answer to the OP's question. Our planet revolves around the sun, not DS9... nor Niners opinions.

You do realize that your opinion, if this is indeed your opinion, is so ridiculous that nobody in their right mind who knows anything about the subject can take you seriously? Being a "Niner" or not a "Niner" doesn't figure in it at all. I may think that VOY is the weakest Trek show, and that DS9 is the best, but I'd never write something as preposterous as that every DS9 episode - including If Wishes Were Horses, Meridian and Profit and Lace - is better than Meld or Living Witness and almost all of the other Trek. If you really don't understand that you're just making yourself look silly when you're claiming that every TOS episode including Mudd's Women, The Alternative Factor, Spock's Brain, Catspaw, The Way to Eden or The Cloud Minders is better than Duet, In the Pale Moonlight, Necessary Evil, The Visitor, Call to Arms, Sacrifice of Angels or Treachery, Faith and the Great River, well... I have no words.

But I doubt you really think so, I think you're just trying to 'make a statement' (read: to be a dick).

If I were ever to encounter a lamp genie who will grant me three wishes, the first one would be that the world became just like 22nd century utopian United Earth, the second would be shitloads of money (which will get me women and power :D ), and the third would be TATV erased from existence.

Is that really too much to ask?

God, how much I despise ye, Berman & Braga... And to think that you used to be so beautiful... Well, at least Braga was... :shifty:

Hey, I like "Fascination" and "The Emperor's New Cloak" too (I seriously do not get the hate for that second one...I think it's at least as good as and even better than some of the other mirror universe episodes) and I think "Take Me Out to the Holosuite" is better than both! I really liked the Sisko and Solok feud.

It gave us one of the most interesting Vulcan characters we've seen (I was also intrigued by the other exploration of the uglier side of Vulcan culture in "Field of Fire") and thought it was totally in line with Sisko's character to take Solok's taunting so seriously and channel his frustration towards his passion for baseball. Definitely one of my favourite more Sisko-centric character study episodes.

Yeah, I liked "Fascination", "Emperor's New Cloak", and "Take Me Out to the Holosuit", too. They were really a lot of fun.

And not to mention the horrible flakey skin they have, or Haneek's dreadful hairdo. :shifty:

Lor'Vela:

Yeah, it was the whole face and attitude thing that set me off about them. Definitely one of the worst aliens in Star Trek that contributed to a really suckable episode, that's for sure.

TOS: Spock's Brain
TOS: Turnabout Intruder
VOY: One
VOY: Bride of Chaotica!
DS9: Sanctuary
TNG: Naked Now
TNG: The Game
ENT: These Are The Voyages
